Hi all at HJG,
This has to be my favourite FS9 place on the net and everyones contributions are fantastic. I especially love the way that HJG has taken on the caretaker role of some wonderful models, especially the Cantu 727's and the Mercure. I have noticed on various messages boards dotted across the flight sim community requests from folks asking for the Project Fokker F-28 and the F-100/F-70 family. The site seems to have gone and I had an idea that maybe HJG could the models and the repaints. The PJ Fokkers were up there with the payware stuff for their day and are still very good. It's a shame there is no permanent home for them and the repaints.
Forgive my naivety if my suggestion is completly out of the box, but it was just a thought.
Knowing full well that you all contribute to our hobby completely in your own time and for no reward (apart from the personal satisfaction), I have no idea if such a task is feasible, but I thought I would put it out there considering all of your 'product' is of such a high standard. I feel guilty that I dont have the talent to 'put something back', apart from a donation.
If it helps anyone out there though, I have the Project Fokker files on my drive and a huge amount of repaints (many still available on AVSIM and FlightSim) so feel free to ask.
Thanks once again for all of the efforts. From my point of view they do not go un-appreciated.
Kind regards,
Tony PER, Western Australia

I’d love to see hjg host and support the PJF but I doubt it’ll happen.
Curious though tony. Could you please message me some repaints that you have or take a screenshot of the ones you have please. I feel a lot was lost in the avsim hack a number of years ago. Cheers

Wrong, I loved the Project Fokker stuff, I would love to see them up again. Now the hard bit, to do this we would need to get the ok from Project Fokker or whoever was in charge, we would then need to build the pages etc and look at FDE and Panel and Sound to make sure all worked how we like our models to work. Not saying PF stuff would need a lot but we are juggling numerous projects at the moment which all take an awful long time to put together simply because the team have to do this in free down time from real world stuff. I can tell you if I could dedicate 24/7 to the HJG projects I would. But I wont say no to the PF just a matter of getting all the bits and pieces together and permissions. I would say this if we had the ok from PF it would still take a while to get up and running and we would have to shelve other projects or at least move them around a bit. Still it gives me food for thought

Well, a few years ago I reworked the FDEs of both the 28 and the 100. I do this with every plane I acquire for my personal use. But I'm just saying we have a bit of a head start with the FDEs of these two if Tony and Mark ever wanted to go ahead with the idea and acquired the rights to the PF planes.

Maybe this would be HJG's next project once the overhaul of the DC-10s is finally completed?

Trust a "WEST ISLANDER" (an Austraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalyan) to come up with this one .... Gidday "TONY G" .... And how ya garn mate .... And how's the F'ing weather over in Perth/WA too mate ? "SERIOUSLY THOUGH FOLKS" .... We are juggling multiple projects at the moment .... of which only the DC-10 is publicly known. Page production and space availability is "easy" in comparison to the rest. PJF comes with it own FDE and panel/gauges suite .... and anything Mike edits FDE-wise ends up being "FAR SUPERIOR" .... as is the case also in regard to George's panel/gauges writing and which would give these F-28's not only give these simulations an FS advantage, but also, a distinct FSX advantage as well. Benoit and myself made a soundpack for the F-28 several years ago .... not the one which accompanies the package, but, a much more superior version(which we released to a South American VA only) .... and which I know know can be made even better knowing what we now know how to do. True to the Steve AUSTON/"6 Million Dollar Man tradition .... we can do it (subject to the legal stuff being agreed to between both parties) .... we can make it bigger, faster, and better than it was before .... we "DO" have the technology. Not saying we should or will do this .... but .... it's certainly not outside the realms of possibilities .... BUT .... don't expect to go to bed tonight and wake up tomorrow morning to an HJG website and forum full of wonderful F-28's. It takes longer to do that than many people might imagine .... and everything (we do) "HAS TO" be done "PROPERLY" .... or there' no point dong it at all. Mark C AKL/NZ

sorry for my bad there, I was thinking it would be that aerofoto and tony would reject as it's not as much as a historic aircraft but if they both are ok with it then sure...would love to see it...

"AEROFOTO" sais, and does, lots of things sometimes (and all for very good reasons) .... only there's often a lot more "AEROFOTO" would like to be able to say, and do, but, which might be constrewed as inappropriate for this forum environment But .... after all's said'n done .... one should never try'n interpret what "AERFOTO" may, or may not, say, do, or actually mean (unless they're very clever or otherwise have a personal "IN" with him) .... because 9 out of 10 times one might be "QUITE WRONG" What "AEROFOTO" might typically say though (in regard to this PJF proposition) is something along the following lines .... Beyond our/HJG's own non-committal responses above let's not focus too intently upon this please .... since this's how false information and erroneous expectations get started .... and that's the last thing we, or anyone else here, wants. "ALL DETAILS" noted though ..... BUT .... as has also already been stated a couple of times above .... we've got "A LOT" on the go behind the scenes already and which is scheduled before the release of anything else that might be taken on. Hi all,
Well that was a surprise. The oft forgotten Fokker usually gets a 'hurumph'in most aviation circles so to see these responses was fantastic. Thank you all for your lovely views (no rants like the other sites) and opinions. In regards to Alex94's response regarding repaints, I tried to put up a shot but it wouldnt let me. If there is anything you would like regarding repaints, I can send you the files if you tell me the liveries you would like. Either that or if I get the time I will make a list and post here.
Once again thank you all for the rational discussion. This site amazes me as everyone is so straight forward and to the point in a practical way. Always a pleasure here.
By the way, the weather in the WEST is cold, but not ENZED cold. Raining too and lotsa stormy cumulus at the moment so some different flying weather for us. The dozens of Fokkers based in PER are rocketing off the runways today and climbing fast thanks to that nice heavy moisture laden air!

Just out of interest Mark, were those Fokker sounds F-28 Rolls Royce Spey 555 Junior sounds or the ones you did for the David Maltby BAC-1-11?
cheers

I'm sure the "Freemantle Doctor" will blow all that crap away later today No .... it was a completely different and standalone soundpack (by Benoit PLAMONDON around 2007 .... and edited by me .... it was one of the old AEROMUSICA series of FS audio files .... today I leave this work entire up to Benoit). It was made at the request of a South American VA and compiled especially for the PJF F-28's .... and which is how I came to be associated with all of the PJF files. I can't remember which version of RR SPEY was represented .... I'll check (the other PC) and reply later. It's definitely "NOT" the RR SPEY audio made for the DMFS BAC ONE-ELEVEN's since those sound packs can't be used with the PJF F-28's (its FDE is incompatible with the parameters compiled into the SOUND.CFG) .... and the RR engines which power F-28's exhibit entirely different audio characteristics anyway. "THANKS" for that .... we do "TRY". We occasionally get a bit of the "other stuff" though (not easy sometimes because people, their views and tolerances, and the way they express these, all differ of course) .... but .... I think it's fair to say we run a pretty fair/respectable forum and if we express our praise/appreciation of anyone here then they "deserve it" .... AND .... if anyone gets "a rocket up their bum" then they "deserve it" too Needless to say .... most people usually know where they stand with us In the meantime "TG" .... thanks for your HU in regard to PJF .... at least now we "have the little FOKKER in sight" Mark C AKL/NZ
