Hi guys, I just downloaded the Boeing 707-320B and downloaded the panel for it. So according to what it says on top of the panel downloads page, the panels were made for FS2004 but should work for FSX. However, the panel doesn't seem to be working for FSX. No clickable parts, nothing even though I correctly installed it. Any way to fix this? thanks

Try installing the 707/720 panel Core Files (all our 707 and 720 panels need these).

Hi All,
Love these aircraft. What a pleasure to fly. Please, keep up the good work.
I'm using Win 10, FSX-SE.
I am having a few problems, though. I'm hoping that you can straighten out my thinking.
I've downloaded a good number of the 707s. Let's specifically talk about the 707-420. I've downloaded the 707-420 panel. I have the plane installed in my FSX-SE successfully. When I start FSX and use the 707-420 Rowen Drilling model the first screen is showing as cockpit View, Virtual cockpit. it is essentially black. I can see a faint outline of what appears to be the windshield divider but not clearly at all. The rest of the VCs arepretty much the same, black. The 2D panel is there and works flawlessly. I'd like to use the VC.
In the instructions it says, "2. Simply install this entire folder "intact" inside your FS9 or FSX "FSFSCONV" folder .... you will find this folder located inside your FS9 "AIRCRAFT" folder."
I don't find a file FSFSCONV anywhere in my FSX. Do I need to make a file called FSFSCONV?
Also, in the aircraft.cfg file, in the line, after the word "panel=" there is nothing. Is that supposed to be there like that?
Am I on the right track to solving the problem or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely?
Thanks for your help.

These B707/720/C135 SERIES simulations are founded on FS2004 .... but .... they do port over to FSX (as does the majority of what we offer with only a few exceptions) without any display or functionality issues. FSX installation protocols are however "a lot more sensitive" than those of FS2004 and therefore need to be completed strictly in accordance with the requirements of that FS version. You may be under a misaprehension here .... because none of the simulations we offer (with the exception of both CONCORDE and the MERCURE 100) are equipped with VC type panels. It's 2D type panels which sustain all of our own simulations .... with the exceptio of just the 2 mentioned above. I presume you're talking about the PANEL folder installation. HJG's installation policy/preference of the pat 18 years is to install all panel folders inside the FSFSCONV folder .... then .... alias the PANEL.CFG file, within the aircraft base pack contained default Panel folder, to the FSFSCONV folder and the approproate panel (it avoids accidental deletion of a panel if a base pack is ever deleted). The FSFSCONV folder is part of the FS2004 Aircraft folder directory .... BUT .... it is not part of the FSX folder directory and therefore needs to be created .... the panel/s then installaed there .... and the CFG file inside base pack contained default Panel folder them aliased to that folder accordingly. That's correct and how it should appear by default. With the PANEL folder installed inside the FSFSCOV folder .... and the PANEL.CFG inside the base pack contained default Panel folder aliased to the FSFSCONV folder and the appropriate panel .... the PANEL= data line of the texture related FLTSIM.XX information does not need to be edited specifically. The simulation will, in this case, be forced to use the the default Panel and its CFG in order in order to display the intended Panel. All "perfectly normal and standard" here

Mark,
Thanks for the help. I followed your advice and instructions and now have the panels installed.
Now, I've run into another problem, though. Again, I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or if it's just that I'm using FSX-SE.
The icons for the other sub panels are covered by the Flights/Aircraft/World/Options, etc. bar. In the past with the FeelThere CRJ/ERJ aircraft I've had to go to View>Full Screen, then move the icon bar, then close the full screen. If I do that with the 707 when I go to views>full screen it locks up the computer and I have to do a restart.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bill Mattson

So what you´re saying is .... all´s installed and is apparently displaying and working fine .... until you select FULL SCREEN mode .... right ?
That shouldn´t happen .... obviously .... only I don´t recall any such issue ever hving been previously reported using any of these panels/simulations since they were first released during 2006 and last updated around 2007/8.
Disregard whatever you´re accustomed to doing using the FEEL THERE CRJ´s or any other simulation.
Using any of our panels/simulations selecting FULL SCREEN mode should be as simple as using keyboard commands ALT+ENTER .... that´s all you should ever need to do in order to activate FULL SCREEN viewing mode.
If this dosn´t work .... then I´d be inclined toward looking at reducing your selected screen resolution within both FS and WINDOWS (both should be set indentcally) .... even though this shouldn´t be necessary either.
Sometimes "these sorts" of issues can be indvidual/unque to some systems and come down to nothing more than PC hardware, drivers, and settings .... which can differ considerably among the variety of what´s available today and which can also therefore make pin-pointig the cause of any such anomaliues extremly difficult if not impossible.
On my PC .... using a much older and now unupported OS .... and a fairly modest (certainly not up market/top of the range) graphics card .... and an even older 19" monotor too .... I run these panels at around a 1280X1024X32 resolution and with no problems at all .... and most other people I know use even higher FS WINDOWS resolutions than this and without any such issues either.
Look at and experiment with, your graphics resolutions and settings .... and possibly even your drivers too Bill .... is all I can suggest in the absence of any known or past reported similar issues.

That’s correct Mark, alt/enter works fine in FSX Boxed, Acceleration and SE.
Are you talking about the FSX menu bar across the top of the screen covering the “other sub panels”? If so, just hold the “alt” key for a few seconds and the menu bar across the top will disappear. Press alt once to view the simulator menus and hold the alt button to hide again.
Cheers,
Nathan

Mark and Nathan,
Thanks so much for your advice. I'll give it a try a bit later this evening.
Take good care.
