Hello.
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with an issue I've found after installing one of the new DC-10-10's. As far as I can tell everything seems to be okay except for the wx radar. Nothing is displayed. Not even the test screen. But, I don't know what, if anything, I'm missing. As noted, everything else seems to be okay.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The very first step is to have FSUIPC installed .... in either registere or non-registered form. The WX Radar (and fuel transfer and dumping system) can't work without it/FSUIPC. The next step is to turn "ON" .... and that's done using the WX Radar control buttons located within the bottom middle of the CP sub panel .... that's where the WX Radar is selected "ON/STBY" .... set to "TEST" .... and then set to "NORM" for operational use. The selector knobs on the actual WX Radar sub panel only control "RANGE" and "BRIGHTNESS" of the display .... whilst the switches located at the to of the WX Radar sun panel are all lighting related. Again the "ON/OFF" and mode controls are located on the CP sub panel. Refer to our following linked forum based online manual .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9147/dc10-panel-installation-handling-notesIn particular refer to sections 2.02: CENTER PEDESTAL ..... and 2.03: WEATHER RADAR PANEL.It all works fine Mark C AKL/NZ

FSUIPC is installed and functioning and I have read through the notes page you refer to.
I don't see anything in the CP sub panel referring to "wx". Can you possibly post a pic of the actual switch you're talking about?

Again and as s referenced within section "2.02: CENTER PEDESTAL of the manual .... Bottom middle of the CP sub panel .... below the INS keypad and selector switches. A row of 6 WX Radar control/selector tabs .... labelled "OFF, STBY, NORM, CONT, MAP", and "TEST" .... as referenced within the manual the "CONT" and "MAP" tabs are intentionally non-functional. Then below these .... 3 selector swiches .... labeled "GAIN, SYSTEM1/2", and "TILT". Select the "STBY" tab to activate the WX Radar sub panel screen. Select the "TEST" tab to test the WX Radar sub panel screen functionaliy. Select "NORM" to enable the WX Radar screen to display weather information. Set the System Selector switch to either "SYSTEM1" or "SYSTEM2" positions .... it doesn't matter .... both rely on a separate electrical buss to power them. Then .... use the "TILT" switch to adjust axix of the WX acanner for weather returns. On the actual WX Radar sub panel .... use the "left selector switch (above the WX Radar screen) to adjust the range .... and use the right selector switch (above the WX Radar screen) to adjust brightness on the screen indications, Manual states as follows .... All works fine (as related within the manual) .... if used correctly/properly ..... Remember also .... the DC-10 WX Radar is intended to detect moisture/precipitation .... indicating turbulence. If one doesn't set up (or download) the apropriate meteorology within FS .... then one won't see any return on the WX Radar display. This WX Radar does presentnt a fairly accurate depiction of actual FS weather. Mark C AKL/NZ

I saw those. But your comment made it seem as if there was something labeled "wx" so that's what I was looking for.

I’m still blown away by the amount of detail and the endless hours of work that George has put into this thing. Nathan

Nothing I communicated suggested anything "appeared" named as such .... I simply use the "basic" terminology by which the system, and its features, are known. Given the manual does clearly list each individual item in the order of it's appearance I do feel it's all sufficiently clear. All one needs do is relate what's listed, in the order of its appearance, to the image provided .... and which applies similarly to each and every other panel/gauge description throughout the manual too Mark C AKL/NZ

He's done "a fine job" alright .... and so have both Mike and Benoit too The first 2 years George spent studying, consulting, and compiling these panels. Then last October these new DC-10's panels, gauges/core files, and base packs came to "us" .... the HJG in-house development team .... to test, adjust, and identify and iron our the bugs (as well as adding other improvements along the way too) .... and which took the remaining past 11 months to achieve. And here we are now .... with "a very nice product" Mark C AKL/NZ

Aerofoto and HJG team... your suggestion that you have "a very nice product" is perhaps an exercise in modesty. Sirs, you have one phenomenal product. You have every right to be proud of your achievement. Superb...nothing less...
