Thanks Tony
Consider this website update a "maintenance excercize" as well as a "minor upgrade" too folks .... simply to address the 2 "very minor" issues reported on our forum in regard to our recently re-released DC-10 project.
None of these minor issues affected the performance of any of these new simulations or the functionality of their panel and systems though. With the release of these edits we simply seek to address these minor issues in the interest of upholding the quality of this new product .... and to ensure our DC-10 simulations are a most enjoyable experience possble for everyone
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING DETAILS CAREFULLY ....
Refresh your internet browser (use SHIFT + F5 keyboard commands) before trying to view and access any of these latest HJG offerings.1. New "V3.1" base packs have been uploaded for the DC-10-10, DC-10-10CF, and DC-10-15 .... these files are located within the "DC-10-10" section of our Downloads page. These replacement files each contain new 3D models .... none of the other contents of these aircraft base packs have been edited or changed though. These new models resolve the wing surface "flickering" observed when viewed from above. This effect "WAS NOT" a texture related issue. It was actually caused by inadvertently duplicated mesh layers within these 3D models. Only these models were affected as such .... all other DC-10 3D models "WERE NOT" affected by this minor anomally.
A new "V3.1" DC-10-40 (NORTHWEST ORIENT/AIRLINES version only) base pack has also been uploaded .... this file is located within the "DC-10-40" section of our Downloads page. This replacement flle also contains a new 3D model .... with none of the other contents of this aircraft base packs having been edited or changed either. This new model resolves the non-rotating engine fan disks when observed from the interior but non-existent VC panel view. The engine fans always worked from FS external view though and were never implicated. "NONE" of our other DC-10 3D models were affected by this minor anomally.
Those whom have recently installed our original/recently released V3.0 DC-10-10, -10CF, -15, and -40 aircraft base packs need only dump the original model folder contents of these particular files .... and replace these with the new model folders from these latest "V3.1" aircraft base packs .... making sure that the replacement model folders are installed inside the correct aircraft base packs .... or problems will result. No other changes or edits are necessary.
If one is installing our new DC-10 Aircraft Base Packs for the very first time .... then a standard/full installation must be completed using these latest files provided and in accordance with our recommended installation procedures.
2. A new "V2.1" DC-10 Panel Gauges/Core Files package has also been uploaded. This file now enables the T/O V-Speed Call-Outs to work "in FSX". Previously this particular feature of our new V2.0 DC-10 panels worked in FS2004 only .... but .... did not work in FSX . FS2004 users "DO NOT" need to replace their DC-10 Panel Gauges/Core Files .... unless one wishes to have a pure/the latest gauges set. This update is really only intended for "FSX" users of our new DC-10 panels/simulations.
Those whom recently installed our V2.0 DC-10 Panels Gauges/Core Files need only reinstall the panel gauges and sound components of this latest "V2.1" file .... to replace the original data.
If one is installing our new HJG DC-10 Panels and Panel Gauges/Core Files for the very first time .... then a standard/full installation must be completed using these latest files provided and in accordance with our recommended installation procedures.
PLEASE NOTE AS FOLLOWS ....No changes have been applied to any of our DC-10-30, -30CF, -30ER, -40D, -40F (HGW), -40F (LGW), and -40I Aircraft Base Packs .... none of these files require any edits and therefore remain "UNCHANGED".
No changes have been applied to any of our DC-10 Panels .... none of these files require any editing and therfore remain "UNCHANGED" also.
No changes have been applied to any of our DC-10 "UI" soundpacks either .... none these files require any edits and therefore remain "UNCHANGED" as well.
JUST A FEW REMINDERS NOW ....Please .... "DO NOT" take short cuts in regard to the installation/re-installation routines for any of the DC-10 files we offer. Do it once, do it right, and do it properly too (to avoid frustration/s) .... aided by our installation instructions which accompany each and every downaloadable file .... and which are also further supported/explained within our "NEW" (and very extensive) DC-10 manual. We strongly urge people to read and/or familiarise themselves with our new forum based/online "DC-10 MANUAL" which is accessed as follows ....
"DC-10 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES"tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9147/dc10-panel-installation-handling-notesThe following sections of this manual should be considered "ESSENTIAL READING" ....
- SECTION 1.08 - Base Pack installation.
- SECTION 1.09 - Panels and Gauges/Core Files installation.
- SECTION 1.10 - Sound Pack installation.
- The entirety of SECTIONS 2.00 through 3.00 - Panel Descriptions.
- The entirety of SECTION 4.00 and SECTION 6.00 - Panel Checklists/Configuration and Tutorials.
- The entirety of SECTION 7.00 - Basic Flying Guides. This new manual goes well beyond installation advice to feature a number of different tutorials ranging from the default MSFS pre-configured panel/engines started and ready to go scenario .... to slightly more sophisticated partial or complete manual/cold & dark panel configuration and engine startup scenarios (aided by both written and video tutorials for both APU and GPU assisted manual engine startup scenarios) .... to taxi, T/O, climb, cruise, descent, approach, and landing .... as well as our usual recommended basic flying guides also. This manual will be constantly updated .... "as we percveive any need to do so" .... with some sections having already been further clarified and/or expanded since its August 17th initial publication.
We hope you'll enjoy the fruits of our labour .... as much as we've enjoyed producing and bringing it all to you
Contact us in the event of any queries or problems .... but .... kindly post all such queries on the appropriate "AIRCRAFT TYPE SUPPORT" forum pages and "not in response to this announcement". PLEASE NOTE: There is no point, or sense, in trying to seek technical support for these (or any of HJG's) simulations outside the HJG forum. The knowledge base which has brought each of these simulations into existence and which understands and is best able to support these products can only be found "HERE" .... at HJG
A "DONATE" tab is now a permanent feature on the HJG Home page. This´s common practice now among most major FS websites. It´s intended to facilitate donations to HJG's service provider .... SIMVIATION.COM. PLEASE NOTE: HJG is, and will always remain, a 100% "FREEWARE" FS website. Donations are "purely voluntary" on the part of each individual .... but ... are "VERY MUCH APPRECIATED". Every contribution helps maintain the service that allows HJG's vast and constantly expanding inventory to exist for everyone's enjoyment. "THANK YOU" .... to those whom have taken the time to donate something in the past .... and "THANKS" in advance to those whom propose doing so in the future
