OK .... that´s great news Terry. It looks like I´ve solved the problem then .... but .... just to be absolutely sure I need 1 further confirmtion .... and of course "ALL" DC-10 models need to be checked individually on the basis of using what I sent you. Thanks Terry BTW .... just a words of advice .... Anytime new files are installed always ensure FS is "shutdown and then restarted" before thse are tried. Failure to do this can result on FS not recognizing what´s been installed. Matk C BOG/CO

Hallelujah! The effects DO work like a charm on my system too! All DC-10s suddenly lit up like Christmas trees. I knew there had to be something going on. Believe it or not, I was about to ask whether or not there is a possibility that we are missing some sort of files required to make these textures display correctly, which you have on your system but we don't, and may have forgot about them, but I told myself that's nonsense. So this was the little devil. Here they are: DC-10-10DC-10-15DC-10-30DC-10-40DC-10-40DDC-10-40IDC-10-40FSweet angels of the heavens, I'm so, so very happy to see this issue resolved, I began to resign myself to the situation, and then BOOM - whaduyaknow, it works. It's just a small visual detail which in no way damages the overall enjoyment of these digital gems, but to me (and most other folks, I'm sure) it's such a superb added bonus, making the whole experience that much more enjoyable and exciting. Many many heartfelt thanks to Mark, and whomever else was responsible for pinpointing the solution to this issue, you really brightened my day/night!

I think this requires a statement from us .... it´s "a little embarrassing", but, it "has to" be done I now know precisely what´s happened to cause this very minor lighting effects issue. The tail logo light, fuselage landing light, and wing light "effects files only" (I´m not talking about the actual lighting and which is "not" the subject of this thread) was part of our original DC-10 release/s during 2014 and the 2015 update also. Somehow .... and I "DO NOT" know how .... these lighting "effects files" (only) have become separated from the main files which we offer. Those whom download our DC-10´s "prior to" this latest re-release .... and whom performed full installs of the 2014 released and/or 2015 updated products will/should have full lighting "effects files" .... provided everything was installed correctly to start with. This´s all perfectly evident when viewing DC-10 imagery and videos posted on our forum and which relate to those releases "prior to" this latest re-release .... all lighting effects are evident within this posted media. This also explains why I, and others among "us" too, could not replicate the described issue .... simply because we all had the full lightig effects as were included within the original 2014 and later 2015 releases. Those whom have downloaded and installed this latest release .... for the first time .... won´t have these effects though and we "WILL" do something about this ASAP. This minor issue is "cosmetic/eye candy" related only and "DOES NOT" impact flight performance, panel systems functionality, or audio fidelity in any way shape or form. Mark C BOG/CO

Many thanks for the follow up explanation Mark! Definitely nothing to be embarrassed about! Given the sheer amount of workload involved with bringing these astounding simulations to fruition, and the countless little details you all need to take care of, it's as good as impossible to "get it perfectly right" from the first time, it is entirely normal to "miss" certain details, no matter how many pre-release tests and double checks are performed. Additionally, unexpected and therefore elusive things may pop up every now and then, causing little issues whose roots cannot seem to be tracked down, as was the case now. It's just so much stuff that needs to be kept in the back of one's mind, that some of those things are bound to be overlooked at some point, as you're all too aware, and that's perfectly normal.
Even large payware developers often find themselves forced to release several patches and fixes following the initial release of their products, after several bugs which escaped their attention become evident. So what you call a little embarrassing, is actually an exemplary piece of brief and effective support in resolving little issues like these which are nearly inevitable.
And yes, I am among those who first "adopted" the HJG DC-10 simulations now, with the occasion of this major upgrade, so I didn't have those effect files on my system. I did briefly flight tested the original releases back in 2014, but eventually decided against keeping them.
Thanks again for all the support provided, so very much appreciated, I certainly didn't expect to have this issue fixed, let alone so quickly!
Best wishes to the whole HJG team! Dorel

Mark, just to second what Dorel mentioned: This swift followup and sense of urgency is unheard of in even the largest payware companies. I applaud you and the HJG development family for making this unheard of effort. Yes, the overall affect was minimal, but you did not use this as an excuse, but a rallying call to "find out what happened". You and your team should be heralded for exceptional support as much as your products. Super Job! Blue skies and fair winds....(IRL as well).. Terry
