Consider this one "a novelty texture" (because it's different from other ARCA fleet members we currently host) .... given all her dings, dents, dirt, scratches, and patches. Within a couple years of entering service with ARCA COLOMBIA and a hard life of flying daily air freight between BOG and MIA .... this's how she actually looked .... Built as a DC-8-53 (C/N # 45651, L/N # 198, F/F January 14th 1964) and delivered to JAPAN AIR LINES (JA8010 "Kirishima") on January 31st 1964 .... this aircraft was sold to ARCA COLOMBIA (HK-2667X) on July 8th 1981 and converted to a DC-8F-54 during December 1981. It was withdrawn from ARCA service and stored at Miami, Florida, USA during 1989 .... then leased to VENUS AIR CARGO from March 1989 .... and then sold to ANDES AIRLINES (HC-BPV) on September 1st 1989 and with whom it served until October 1996 when it was again withdrawn from service and stored at Miami, Florida, USA. Painted (patched, scratched, and otherwise passionately detailed with pride) by Camilo LUENGAS (gracias amigo) .... this particular DC-8 was once flown by his father .... Captain Hugo LUENGAS .... whom flew for ARCA COLOMBIA throughout the 1980's. Mark C AKL/NZ

I agree with Tony: Excellent work. I only can imagine how long and difficult it must have been to paint (err...scratch) this cargo DC-8.
