Here is a quick tutorial video on how to simulate “wing views” in FS9 by setting up spot camera views using FS Recorder. It’s perfect for aircraft that don’t include dedicated “wing views” in their .mdl I will eventually upload spot camera settings for all the HJG aircraft that don’t have a “wing view” built into them. As you can see, my collection of retro AI is starting to come together nicely 🥳 Cheers, Nathan. There are five data fields that are edited to make the cameras for FS9 Firstly and most importantly, you have to select "Fixed to Aircraft" in the Mode: section Once you have done that very important step the fields that we will edit are in the "Position" section: Left/Right: Up/Down: Front/Back:
and in the "Zoom" section: Zoom Factor:

Remember to add a "New" camera for each view.
Once all 4 of your cameras are created, use the default FS9 keyboard shortcut "s" to go to "Spot View". You can then use default FS Recorder keyboard shortcut "v" and "Shift v" to cycle forwards and backwards through the spot views. A reminder that the default keyboard shortcuts will only work if you haven't changed your keyboard shortcuts in the sim.
Cheers,
Nathan

Remember: You MUST PAN the camera around into its final position to get the wing view! Thank you Nathan for bringing all the datas to one point! Good job!
btw. your AI traffic looks so cool. Nice models. Do you also create the flightplans by yourself?
Saludos
Michael

Thanks Michael, I have been accumulating my ai from a few different sources. First of all from our very own Peter Liddell link Brian’s Retro AI link Mikey’s Repaint Links (Michael Pearson) link And our own HJG DC-8 AI download pages. The flight plans are from the Retro AI Flight Group’s Interim Flight Plan Archive link . Like here, a lot of dedicated people creating a lot of amazing gifts for the flight sim community. As newer repaints on better models become available, I have been updating some of the aircraft as well. Still a lot more to add but I’m slowly getting there. Cheers again, Nathan
