I'm experiencing a strange problem involving the use of the dc-9-10 (JT8D-7) panel. When I alias the panel.cfg to use this panel, I lose all ATC and pilot voices in the sim. In addition, the engine sounds seem very quiet even though I still have the plane configured to use the 737-400 sounds. If I then go back to the 737-400 panel the voices return and the sounds revert back to the 737-400. I have checked and rechecked my installation. The panel displays and functions normally except for the aforementioned problem. I'm running FS9. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. rpm.

You shouldn´t be experiencing any such audio issues (obviously) .... "provided everything´s been installed/configured correctly"
Our DC-9 Panels were last updated during 2010 .... 9 years ago.
Their supporting Panel Gauges/Core Files component was last updated during December 2018 .... and the only edit applied to these then was in regard to a WX Radar unit improvement .... nothing else was added or has been touched or changed since though.
The DC-9 Aircraft Base Packs (and their supporting FDE) were last updated during 2010 also.
No reports .... that I´ve seen/recall .... have ever been received during this time in regard to either the DC-9 Sounds (Panel Audio or or the default FS2004 B737-400 Panel and Sound alias´s .... or even our own DC-9 JT8D Sound Packs .... nor even the FS ATC audio either). Having stated the latter though most of us consider "the default FS2004 ATC" to be so apallingly poor that few of us, if any of ourselves, use it anyway.
I note, per your past postings, that you´ve been using the HJG DC-9 simulations since around December 2015 .... but .... apart from an ANTI-ICE issue reported by you during this time, and which was resolved at that time also, you mention no such audio issues way back then. This may be significant .... because whilst some of our DC-9 Panels feature physical differences they each utilize the very same Gauges and audio programing .... so .... if any anomally (such as you´re now reporting) was to occur, then it would impact "each HJG DC-9 panel" you´ve installed .... unless you´ve made some installation and/or configurational error or applied any change/edit with regard to the installation of just your HJG DC-9-10 JT8D-7 panel only.
What changes (if any) have you made to FS .... since 2015 ?
Have you edited our DC-9 panels with any other non-HJG offered features since 2015 ?
What screen resolution are you using for our DC-9 panels (I recall it being discovered post release that there was a tolerable limit/maximum in regard to these Panels only which can affect both the graphics and functionality of some features of these DC-9 panels) ?
"IF" .... our DC-9 Panels are actually "displaying" within FS for you, then, I think we can assume they´re corectly installed and your issue likely Gauages/Core files related (in the absence of any other changes/edits) .... SO .... check that you´ve correctly installed all of the required DC-9 Panel Gauges/Core Files compents precisely as follows ....
Pay particular care/attention in regard to "the 2 abovementioned DLL files" .... since both go to "different destination folders" within the FS2004 folder directory.
Try using our own DC-9 JT8D-7 Sound Packs too .... use the "DC-9 JT8D EARLY" version for all D-7 Panels and Base Packs and the "LATE" sond pck version for all others.
I can´t think of anything else to check or add.
As I started out by saying .... such as you´re now reporting has never been advised since we first uploaded/released our DC-9 files during 2010.

Marc,
Just wanted to let you know that I was finally able to resolve the issue by going into my audio settings and switching my speakers from "5.1" to "stereo". All works fine now.
Thanks.

Glad to know that .... even though we knew there was no issue to start with Odd both panels should result in different observations though. ANYWAY .... at least your feedback contributes to our infomtion resource that may now assist someone else whom might, in the future, run into the same/a similar issue. Thnk "RPM151" Mark C BOG/CO
