Hey Guy's.
I've been trying to obtain the 727-200 ADV American Trans Air, no combination of base model added to the Aircraft CFG has worked.
Below is what the installation txt told me to use.
//Use HJG supplied B727-200 ADV JT8D-17 NTL/VHF Aircraft Base Pack****
It also instructed me to do the following which i have done...I think if not where do i get a 3-D Model Folder?
Add a 3D model folder name to the MODEL= data line in each FLTSIM.XX/Add To Aircraft CFG entry. For this particular aircraft base pack these entries may read only as follows :-
model=HK2_NTL
or
model=HK2_VHF
or
model=HK3_NTL
or
model=NTL
or
model=VHF
or any combination of these model folder names in accordance with the number of textures/FLTSIM.XX entries added to the CFG.FILE for this particular simulation .... then "SAVE" this/these edit/s.
Like i said i have used every combination of models above and, can't see the aircraft on the FSX list.
[fltsim.xx] // Change "xx" to next number in sequence starting from 0 title=Boeing 727-200 ADV American Trans Air 2000 sim=B727200ADVC_VL model=HK2_TL panel= sound= texture=ata_1995_2b7adv_n770at atc_id=N770AT atc_heavy=0 atc_flight_number=722 atc_airline=TRANS AIR atc_parking_codes=ATA atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=727-200 ADV ui_variation=American Trans Air (2000) description=One of the most successful commercial jet airliners ever designed. I'm never going to give up until, i get this aircraft.

I .... see .... what your problem is !You´ve got the wrong B727-200 JT8D-17 base pack .... but .... due to "a typo" I can see among the ADD TO AIRCRAFT stated base pack, panel, and sound recomendations (below the FLTSIM.XX data) for this texture this´s "not your fault" It´s actually "MY FAULT" The ADD TO AIRCRAFT stated base pack, panel, and sound recommendations for this particular texture currently read as follows .... //Use HJG supplied B727-200 ADV JT8D-17 NTL/VHF Aircraft Base Pack //Use HJG supplied B727-200 ADV JT8D-17 panel //Use HJG supplied B727 P&W JT8D-17 soundpack (either FD or WV options) HOWEVER .... the first line within this (above) data should have read as follows .... //Use HJG supplied "B727-200 ADV JT8D-17 TL" (not NTL/VHF) Aircraft Base Pack[/b] The panel and sound options as stated are all "CORRECT" though .... so no changes are required for these details. RECOMMENDED SOLUTION ....
1. Download the "B727-200 ADV TL JT8D-17" aircraft base pack .... it contains the required "HK2_TL" 3D model file.
2. Install your "texture.ata_1995_2b7adv_n770at" texture folder inside the "B727-200 ADV TL JT8D-17" base pack.
3. Add the FLTSIM.XX data for this texture to the "B727-200 ADV TL JT8D-17" base pack AIRCRAFT.CFG file .... don´t change any of this particular data (as supplied) since it´s all correct.Follow instructions 1-3 (above) and this should/"WILL" solve your problem Sorry about that .... BUT .... "thanks" for the HU Processing this data, sometimes during the wee hours of some mornings (grave yard watch), minor typos/errors can occur .... but .... this´s probably the one of few if any other errors exist. You just "chanced upon" a/the very file containing such a typo/error. I´ll correct this ADD TO AIRCRAFT data (the texture is fine and needs no editing) and we´ll re-upload it as a "V2" suffixed texture file of the same name ASAP .... BUT .... given current server maintenance that will be ongoing over the next few/several days (as advised earlier today) I´m not sure how quickly we´ll be able to get a/the replacement texture file uploaded. None-the-less .... this partiular ATA 1995 B727-200 ADV texture file "is" currently accessible Again .... all one needs to do is follow the above stated number 1-3 instructions and this texture file "WILL" then be recognized by FS .... and "WILL" display, and be selectable, within the FS AIRCRAFT SELECTION MENU. Confirm you´ve attended to this please .... precisely as stated above .... and that all´s well accordingly. Mark C BOG/CO

Ok here is what the B727-200 ADV TL JT8D-17" aircraft base pack looks like which, is what i downloaded. 1.model.HK2_TL Inside of that folder is below. HJG_B727-200_FedEx_StageIII_TL.mdl and a model CFG. 2.model.TL Inside of above folder is below. HJG_B727-200_adv_TL.mdl and a model CFG. Below are the results. 1.model.HK2_TL 2.model.TL 3.panel..within panel..alias=fsfsconv\panel.b727-200_advanced_jt8d-17_v2 4.sound..within sound folder. Pratt & Whitney JT8D-17 sounds. 5.texture.ata_1995_2B7adv_n77at 6.Aircraft.cfg 7.Aircraft-FSX.cfg 8.B727200ADVC.AIR
Final results with ADD to FLTSIM data.xx included is below. [fltsim.0] // Change "xx" to next number in sequence starting from 0 title=Boeing 727-200 ADV American Trans Air 2000 sim=B727200ADVC_VL model=HK2_TL panel= sound= texture=ata_1995_2b7adv_n770at atc_id=N770AT atc_heavy=0 atc_flight_number=722 atc_airline=TRANS AIR atc_parking_codes=ATA atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=727-200 ADV ui_variation=American Trans Air (2000) description=One of the most successful commercial jet airliners ever designed. Production totaled 1,831 aircraft between 1963 and 1984.\n\nAdditional painting credits:\n\nDaniel Halpern for his windows and excellent metal textures.\n\n Repaint by Andre REIMERS visual_damage=1 atc_id_color=0x00000000 atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0 As you can see all is done as instructed yet, the aircraft doesn't show within the FSX menu of planes.

a7edriver, are you referring to the thumbnail picture in the FSX plane menu?
As the aircraft are designed for FS2004 (FS9), they don’t include a thumbnail in the menu. What you need to do is copy the thumbnail picture from the HJG website to your pc. Rename the pic as thumbnail then place the pic in the repaint folder for the aircraft. If you don’t do this, the aircraft will have the generic FSX aircraft pic in the menu.
If you then use the filter in the menu to show “Boeing” planes it should be there.
Also, I note that you are using the FS9 version of the aircraft.cfg not the FSX one. To get the FSX one to work, you need to rename the aircraft.cfg to aircraft_fs9.cfg. Next rename the aircraft-FSX.cfg to aircraft.cfg
Cheers, Nathan

I think he´s meaning the aircraft subject still isn´t displaying within the FSX Aircraft Selection Menu .... at least that´s my interpretation of his response I didn´t know he was trying to install our B727´s in FSX .... if earlier stated then I´ve missed that particular detail. All of our B727 simulations "are" FSX "portable" (including each of the panels .... and sound packs too and for which FSX specific version are provided by us for the latter) .... all as evidenced among these FSX videos .... PANELS & INTERIOR SOUND www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEqbLMoM3KEMODEL/TEXTURE & EXTERIOR SOUND www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4ZeLfkG1XI&list=PLTSY5-fFxYR_E136wFUfXN1ZZmby0sNVMThere should be no problems, at, all associated with installing any these B727 simulations into FSX .... apart from FSX itself .... its own "very specific" installation protocols I mean .... since the slightest wrong step/misconfiguration of anything "WILL" cause FSX to not display any add-on aircraft subject. The last instructions I provided (above) are based on FS9 installation .... BUT .... these, as presented, are equally applicable to FSX too, since everything I´ve last recommended applies to the FSX version as well. So far as I can determine (from the data he´s provided) .... his FLTSIM.XX data is "correct" .... although he could change the 2 livery dates appearing the within the TITLE= and UI VARIATION= lines of this data from 2000 to read "1995" (to be consistent with the texture livery date) .... although these 2 edits are simply "cosmetic" and won´t/can´t cause his subject to not display within FSX .... and nor will/can editing-in these same 2 details result in this subject suddenly displaying either. If the FLTSIM.XX data is otherwise correct .... and the correct base pack and 3D model files are also being used .... and which appears to be the case in his particular case .... THEN .... the problem can probbly really only be PANEL or SOUND folder (contents) related or, and as Nathan suggests, CFG (FS9 or FSX version) related. "A7E DRIVER" .... as Nathan indicates .... If you´re an FSX user .... then you need to be sure you´ve correctly activated the FSX specific CFG file (named Aircraft-FSX) .... by first "dumping/deleting" the default AIRCRAFT.CFG file (named AIRCRAFT .... which is the FS9 specific version) .... leaving the AIRCRAFT-FSX named CFG version installed and which then needs to renamed "AIRCRAFT" .... or "AIRCRAFT.CFG" .... depending on file naming conventions associated with your PC/OS. ALSO .... In the case of the panel file .... make sure you haven´t got the required Panel folder (and its contents) still contained inside a containing folder from its ZIP folder .... I think there may also be an FSX specific PANEL.CFG file for these panels too (I can´t remember and are away from all of our files at the moment), so, "IF" this´s indeed the case then you need to be sure you´ve activated it correctly also for FSX use .... again by first "dumping/deleting" the default PANEL.CFG file (named PANEL .... which is the FS9 specific version) .... leaving the PANEL-FSX named CFG version installed and which then needs to renamed "PANEL" .... or "PNEL.CFG" .... depending on file naming conventions associated with your PC/OS. In the case of the Sound pack .... make sure you haven´t got the required Sound folder (and it´s contents) contained inside a conrtaining folder from the original ZIP folder also .... and that youre, indeed, using the FSX spéceiic sound pack version too.´ Errors associated with either of these above 3 details will absolutely ensure FSX "does not" display the aircraft subject you´re trying to install. I can´t really think of anything else to add .... for the moment. Mark C BOG/CO

Just confirming there "ARE" indeed 2X PANEL CFG files inside each of our B727 panels.
The PANEL.CFG file (which is the default version for FS9) .... and the PANEL-FSX.CFG file (which is the FSX only version).
I´ve therefore "slightly edited" my last posting (above) now that I´ve checked/confirmed this .... so .... in order to use our B727 panels "in FSX" be sure to activate the FSX specific PANEL.CFG only (as now stated above) .... or FSX simply will not display the enntire add-on aircraft subject within its Aircraft Selection Menu.

FYI .... As mentioned (above) we would do .... we've now replaced the AMERICAN TRANS AIR B727-200 ADC 1995 texture ZIP file for the following ATA livery version only .... 1995 - N770AT - B727-2B7 ADV Textures by Andre Reimers Last Updated: July 2018The replacement texture ZIP file is now suffixed "V2" .PLEASE NOTE AS FOLLOWS .... "Absolutely no changes" have been applied to the actual texture file. The applied edits are in relation to the following very minor details only .... 1. The 2000 year dates within both the TITLE= and UI VARIATION data lines of the FLTSIM.XX data for this particular texture have been edited to read "1995" .... so these now read in conjunction with the Texture folder livery date. 2. The recommended Aircraft Base Pack data (this is not part of the required FLTSIM.XX data) has been edited to correctly read as follows .... //Use HJG supplied "B727-200 ADV JT8D-17 TL" Aircraft Base Pack Whilst applying these edits this particular file was carefully inspected and "NOTHING ELSE" other than the abovementioned details altered in any way shape or form .... simply because "no other details" were determined to be in need of in editing. These minor edits have no bearing whatsoever on the installation difficulty experienced by the OP .... the applied edits are purely "cosmetic" in order to correct the very minor typos mentioned within the first of my above replies . This particular texture file .... like all of our other B727 related files too .... "IS FSX PORTABLE" and "DOES" work fine within that FS platform .... proved it, and it's supporting files, are each all installed correctly/as recommended. The FSX related installation issues reported by the OP appear to be procedural .... in respect of the "FSX installation routine". FSX installation procedures are "sensitive" .... in that the slightest error with any FSX specific installation will usually cause subjects not to be recognized or displayed within the FSX Aircraft Selection Menu. If the OP is still in need of assistance with this particular installation, then, it's essential he relates to us "precisely what he's done or is doing" .... for us to then determine "exactly what he's done or is doing wrong in order for us to recognize the problem and then advise in regard to the correct/best remedial action/s.
