That's "a pity" really
.... because this group goes to "GREAT LENGTHS" in order to try'n assist resolving all reported issues .... and normally with a far greater than 90% success rate too.
"IF" .... this particular B727-200 installtion difficulty is going to persist .... then .... it's going to go down in HJG history has "THE FIRST" we've not ever been able to resolve for someone (in regard to "these particular simulations" at least) and since October 2015.
We've already stated within at least 2 other threads by the same OP, and in relation to very same subject too, that FSX (unlike FS2004) is "CASE SENSITIVE" in regard to the installation of all add-on aircraft subjects .... and if the correct protocols aren't applied then issues "WILL" certainly result.
We've also acknowledged the installation procedures for our "B727-200's" require a little more care and attention .... and we've additionally stated "precisely why" this imposition is the case as well as precisely what needs to be done and how.
The Installation Instructions for each B727-200 "V2.0" base pack equally clearly emphasize this as well as where all the necessary supporting references are all located too.
We've don't offer auto-installers .... and we're not going to start doing now.
We have to "assume" people are sufficiently familiar with FS installation protocols to be able troubleshoot theit difficulties "based on the advice we provide or otherwise recommend" .... in short people do need to to be able to assist themselves, to some extent, as much as also assisting our being able to assist them better too.
Our abilities to resolve any issue for anyone is therefore dependent upon 2 primary factors ....
1. People clearly stating their difficulty.
2. People then following our instructions .... "to the letter".In the case of #2 people generally say they "do" or "have" followed our instructions (and we can only take "their word" for that) ... BUT .... in cases where difficulties persist, even "after" we provide the correct advice, then, that can only result from our advice/recommendations not having been followed/or still being misunderstood to some extent .... otherwise no issue/s would persist.
We also need to say given the litterally 1,000's of files we offer here .... it's not unreasonable to expect that "we may make the odd mistake too" within what we offer .... a fact we freely acknowledge, and did in fact acknowledge recently in regard to data accompanying the ATA 1995 B727-200 ADV texture and which has since been corrected as earlier advised.
The above are probably the most important details we need to stess.
In addition to these details though .... we do also need to encourage in regard to the following very minor matters too ....
1. When seeking assistance in regard to any particular issue .... don't go starting a new thread for the very same or similar subject matter .... keep responses localised to within the original subject thread if already started
2. It'd also be appreciated if issues are reported on their respective aircraft type support forum pages too (not the "GENERAL" forum page) .... simply in the interests of eventually assembling a case history in regard to any support item for each particular simulation .... the purpose of which hopefully/ultimately assists the next person with a possibly similar issue
MOVING ON NOW AND IN RELATION TO THE REST OF THIS POSTING ....
That's not correct .... the FSX specific B727 sound packs are each is listed on the "BOEING SOUNDS" page as follows ....
P&W JT8D-7 sounds
HJG/Vistaliners B727-100/-200
"THESE SOUNDPACKS ARE FOR FSX USE ONLY"
Flightdeck environment & exterior views
P&W JT8D-17 sounds
HJG/Vistaliners B727-100/-200
"THESE SOUNDPACKS ARE FOR FSX USE ONLY"
Flightdeck environment & exterior views
P&W JT8D-217 sounds
HJG/Vistaliners B727-100/-200
"THESE SOUNDPACKS ARE FOR FSX USE ONLY"
Flightdeck environment & exterior viewsThey're all there .... and we reluctantly hasten to add that if you're missing important details such this (as was also the case recently too in regard to the DC-8 panel gauges/core files) .... then .... there's likely other details you're similarly overlooking and/or misunderstanding as well .... and that's of concern to us whom try to assist.
ALSO .... "DON'T" install FS2004 designated sound packs in FSX (or FSX designated sound packs in FS2004 either) because they "WILL NOT/CANNOT" work properly since the sound engine within both FS versions is "quite different" hence all of our audio needs to be, and is, customised specifically for each FS version.
BUT .... have you actually taken care to ensure the 3D model assignments you're applying to the FLTSIM.XX MODEL= data line are one of those "from the actual Aircraft Base Pack you're using" (as Klaus correctly advises) ?
Failure to do this properly will absolutely ensure the aircraft subject either doesn't display within FS Aircraft Selection Menu or that a "MODEL ERROR" occurrs when the subject is then selected from the Menu.
"IF" any selected texture is not from the B727-200 ADV texture downloads inventory .... then it's not an ADV and the FLTSIM.XX SIM= data line should not be suffixed "B727200ADVC_VL" .... and nor should the UI TYPE= data line read "B727-200 ADV" either. In this particular case Klaus's advice is "ABSOLUTELY CORRECT".
This particular ANA texture subject was uploaded during 2014 .... prior to the 2015 reorganization of our B727-200 files that was "forced" upon us.
This particular file "IS NOT" one of those that was processed by myself.
Based on the above evidence it "IS" apparent that the FLTSIM.XX data for this particular texture "DOES" contain an error .... and as stated above errors can, and do, happen here however rarely.
We will address this .... as we usually do .... then advise accordingly in regard to a corrected file being uploaded later.
In the mean time .... use this ANA 1976 texture with the "B727-200 EARLY NTL/VHF P&W JT8DD-9" aircraft pase pack and asssign the "VHF" model (as stated within the forum based B727-200 texture list).
Use the "B727-200 EARLY P&W JT8D-9" panel with this base pack as well along with the "B727 P&W JT8D-17" sound pack (as is stated within the forum based B727 manual .... the B727 JT8D-9/-15, and -17 base packs use the D-17 audio as the sound characteristic for each are identical; The SUPER B727's use the JT8D-217 audio; All other B727's use the JT8D-7 audio). Again use FSX version sound packs only if you're using that particular FS version.
The FLTSIM.XX data for this particular texture should also read (or be edited to read) as follows ....
[fltsim.0] // Change "xx" to next
