What I'm about to say I can't garuntee will resolve yoour problem .... but .... somebody else reported this or a similar lighting issue in the towards the end of the thread entitled "B707 QUESTIONS".
Apparently he just reinstalled all the vital B707 files (I presume that to mean AIRCRAFT.CFG & AIR.FILE) and this apparently cured the problem.
Please be sure to delete all original/old HJG supplied AIRCRAFT.CFG & AIR.FILE before installing and running the new B707/720 panels.
Be sure to replace it with the new FDE data provided with each of the new B707/720 Base Packs.
Continued use of older FDE data "may" induce problems if used with these new panels.

Mark,
I just did a completely fresh install of the B707-320C(v5.0) and I can't get the beacons to come on either.
Any ideas?

You have to use the default 'strobe' key to get the beacons to show. Or you can change the light parameter in the "LIGHTS" section of the aircraft config.
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing light.0=2, 2.939, 0, 0, fx_beaconb , light.1=2, 14.139, 0, 14.139, fx_beaconb , light.2=3, -24.988, -65.367, 9.947, fx_navredm , light.3=3, -24.988, 65.367, 9.947, fx_navgrem , light.4=3, -67.025, 0, 11.381, fx_navwhi , light.5=4, 49.900, 0, 11.200, fx_vclighth , light.6=4, 61.900, 0, 8.600, fx_vclighth , light.7=4, 31.300, 0, 5.400, fx_vclighth ,
From this ^ to this: //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing light.0=1, 2.939, 0, 0, fx_beaconb , light.1=1, 14.139, 0, 14.139, fx_beaconb , light.2=3, -24.988, -65.367, 9.947, fx_navredm , light.3=3, -24.988, 65.367, 9.947, fx_navgrem , light.4=3, -67.025, 0, 11.381, fx_navwhi , light.5=4, 49.900, 0, 11.200, fx_vclighth , light.6=4, 61.900, 0, 8.600, fx_vclighth , light.7=4, 31.300, 0, 5.400, fx_vclighth ,
Hope this helps
Jonathan

Jonathan, Thanks for the reply and help! I will make the changes and give them a try. However, I am quite confused here. I downloaded the base packages, textures and the panel files yesterday evening (06-27-2006) for the 707-320C and 420. The lights section of the aircraft config for 707-320C does not even remotely resemble what you posted. My 707-320C is this before modification as per your post: [LIGHTS] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=flight deck, 5=landing light.0=2, 0.881, 0, -0.201, fx_beaconb.fx , light.1=2, 13.546, 0, 14.317, fx_beaconb.fx , light.2=3, -31.285, -70.811, 9.110, fx_navredm , light.3=3, -31.285, 70.811, 9.110, fx_navgrem , light.4=3, -77.087, 0, 11.110, fx_navwhi , Ummm...your before and after look quite abit alike The 420 lights section of mine was similiar to yours except for the first two lines. I thought the files on the site were the latest? Regards, Scott KJMS

Suggest that the electrical panel be defaulted ON - or at least a modified panel included for us lazy and 99% reality FS users!
