Caught up for now, anyway... Here's another JTA 737 in the form of JA8597 circa 2001, in the livery derived from JAL's main one at the time.

"Sky Manta" .... is how I think they/JTA/JAL marketed their services (to the Ryuku Islands .... the island chain between Kyushu/southwestern Japan and Taiwan .... and which are also composed of Okinawa) using these aircraft and during this particular livery period JTA was founded during 1967 as SOUTHWEST AIR LINES (Japan). It became JAPAN TRANSOCEAN AIR during 1993 and is a JAPAN AIRLINES subsidiary .... hence one can now appreciate the SWAL/JTA "retro livery" (above .... as was applied to SWAL's B732's and YS-11's) .... along with this earliest of JTA's definitive liveries .... followed by the later definitive scheme (above also) .... each of which will soon join our already uploaded current JTA B734 .... "possibly" along with another couple of surprises too Mark C AKL/NZ

Alright, these two took some time to finish, but they're ready to go! ANK briefly operated two 737-400s, which were both painted in this "Super Dolphin" paint scheme. JA391K had the ANK logo on the tail, while 392 had a small sticker commemorating ANK's 30th anniversary and some other small detail differences. JA391K, 2004: JA392K, 2005:

A bit of reshuffling along one with new addition (in order to present a different coloured and "historic" pair) going here .... SWA operated its first/inaugural 737-300 service on December 17th 1983. This particular service was operated by N300SW .... named “The Spirit of Kitty Hawk” .... and which flew DAL/HOU/SAT/DAL that day in commemoration of the WRIGHT brother's first powered flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, 81 years previously. Here's a little bit about this SWA event .... and which explains the historic significance of this particular texture subject .... www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Blog/The-Spirit-of-Kitty-Hawk-Moves-to-Its-New-Home/ba-p/37074SOUTHWEST AIRLINES "The Spirit Of Kitty Hawk" B737-3H4 N300SW (1985)N300SW remained in service with SWA for its entire operational career .... until 2011 when it was presented to the FRONTIERS OF FLIGHT MUSEUM, at Dallas Texas, USA and where it's since remained on display. This particular aircraft wasn't the sole bearer of the name "The Spirit Of Kitty Hawk" though. Each of the airlines first 3 B737-300's .... N300SW, N301SW, and N302SW .... all supported the same name (which has also since been applied to its B737-700 N448WN) .... SOUTHWEST AIRLINES "The Spirit Of Kitty Hawk" B737-3H4 N301SW (2003)N301SW remained in service with SWA until September 9th 2008 when it was withdrawn from service. It was scrapped at Las Vegas, Nevada, USA during 2009. A little information concerning SWA and the B737 (per an online AIRWAYS feature dated 2017) .... airwaysmag.com/airlines/flashback-when-southwest-retired-the-boeing-737-200/"THANKS" Erik Mark C AKL/NZ

Taking a quick detour from the Japanese birds to present this one, OE-LDD of Austrian Airlines (named "Steiermark") as it looked around 1972. The DC-9-30s were augmented by -50s starting in 1975, and they became one of the first operators of the MD-80 worldwide in October 1980. This particular frame flew with them until 1982, when it was sold to Texas International as N524TX.

AUSTRIAN AIRLINES DC-9-32 OE-LDD "Steirmark" (1972)EMERY AIR FREIGHT DC-10-10CF N68042 (2000)These'll "possibly" (?) be the last presentations that'll make our next release ,,,. BUT ....
