I just read that Hawaiian do not have intentions to replace their Boeing 717-200 fleet anytime soon. Their 20 airframes will continue inter-island service at least until 2025, if not above.
Not bad news for a revamped DC-9. :-)

Truth is... They can't replace them realistically with anything on the market now.
The new GTF powered A220 and E2s are not capable of the short high cycle demands... 737 and A320 variants too heavy...
So yes... I won't be surprised to see them as the last LGB product operation in the US.
