A few of the above-linked scenes from "A PIECE OF CAKE" capture/exploit well the nervous tension that existed among some pilots during WW2 .... and which was also sometimes relieved per "sarcastic provocatism" .... the fictitious FO CATTERMOLE/"MOGGY" for example.
The following are a few scenes from what I regard as being "the best ever" WW2 based submarine related production (some of which similarly capture that fallible human side of peoples nature/s during the stress/es of wartime existence/survival and which again was undoubtedly expereienced on/by both sides) .... "DAS BOOT/THE BOAT".
Although this's a fictional story it's actually based on the U-Boat experience/s of German war correspondent Lothar-Gunther BUCHEIM during WW2 .... and whom was loosely portrayed by Luetenant WERNER within this Geman production from 1981 ....
