Running FSX with Acceleration, many addons, scenery files, AI's etc. All of a sudden it just quit. And then it would not load no matter what I did. This was shortly after a windows 10 update. I have taken it back and have done everything. So I uninstalled it and didn't get a clean uninstall, so manually did that. Now I can't reinstall the disc. Every time I try I get a different error messages. Anyone else had problems with the last couple 10 updates? Denny aka Falcon

I don't know what to suggest Denny .... but someone may have some advice. Sometimes it's possible to trace a certain file associated with any update .... and then target and remove that particular component only .... as was the case for a number of FS9 users a little while back and following "another bloody windows update". However .... if you've already attempted the uninstallation/removal of the main program .... then reinstallation of of it .... then .... that could be "a problem". "BLOODY WINDOWS UPDATES" .... it's for this precise reason I keep the FS PC "right away from the internet" .... no connection to the internet at all. ANYONE ABLE TO ASSIST/ADVISE DENNY ?Mark C AKL/NZ

Hey Denny, no problem here but I’m running the Steam Edition. What are the error messages you are getting? Are you turning off your virus scanner and Windows Defender?
Will look around the usual forums and see what I can find.

As you've already done an uninstall, this advice may be too late. As many will recall, about 5 years ago a W7 update started to systematically destroy FS9. And more recently with Active Sky I had a problem. Both instances were resolved by using Windows restore point feature. I restored to a W7 versions that was about 2 months prior to my problems and when I knew everything was operating properly. That worked for me in both cases. My FS computer is connected to the internet unlike Mark, as I am addicted to real time weather via Active Sky, but Window updates have long been disabled. Though I'm operating W7 so maybe that's irrelevant now. I do all my email, typing on this forum etc. from a laptop running W10...I don't really care how much it updates If I get enough money for a new FS computer and try out MSFS2020 I'll be real careful about W10 updates on that machine given past history. Updated everything to the latest version of Win10, ensured all apps updated too and FSX-SE started fine.
When you get some spare time, I would love to know what the error message is.
Cheers, Nathan

Thanks Guys, I think I have a problem more than FSX. First of all I get several different errors. First is Error 1603 which has nothing really to do with FSX. But last night I got this. Error 1305
I have taken the computer back to 3 different restore points. I might mention that my GPU was acting up also.
I am certain I need to reload Windows 10 OS.
I did not save alot of my FSX on other hardware, as it was getting pretty maxed out with add ons. lol

Well I was able to load my FSX into my old Vista machine without any problems so my good fast computer has some issues. Still working on it. Grounded for the time being.
