What people do is entirely up to themselves .... of course .... BUT .... on many past occasions I've stated .... "there's no point in seeking technical support for HJG offerings anywhere else other than on the HJG forum".
It's "not" that we want to try'n increase patronage here (not at all), but rather, it's solely due to the fact that "the expertise and knowledge concerning all we offer can only really be found here .... at HJG" .... after all we've built, or otherwise been authorized to edit, most of what we offer and therefore understand it all more intimately than most others.
Over the past year or so I've seen some "incredibly poor/ill-conceived" instruction/s and recommendation/s posted by some people in response to queries "on other FS forums" concerning HJG offerings .... and which on many occasions I've had to quickly correct (sometimes at the risk of being openly abused by someone else for my daring to countermand their bad/wrongly given advice) solely to ensure the OP's of such queries get both "the right advice" and hopefully "the best solution" too.
Another issue I've spotted, and on more than one occasion, again on "other FS forums" and in relation to HJG offerings, is the like of the following .... I purposely won't identify the origin of the following-quoted forum comment nor identify its author either, but, just ask everyone to note the OP's commentary please ....
Folks .... all I want to say in regard to the above is .... "this's a glaring example of precisely what to not ever do".
Never delete, rename, or modify the content/s of any file we provide (unless we advise doing so) .... since everything we provide/include within any file is so-named or otherwise serves a purpose and is there "for specific reason".
Deleting, renaming, or modifying the content/s of any file we provide will prospectively "lead to problems" with the installation concerned .... or create issues for other components (like additional textures) associated with it.
"IF" anyone experiences any problem/s, at all, with any of our files and can't resolve them themselves, then, all they need to do is ....
- Register on our/this forum .... if not already registered.
- State which version of FS they're using.
- State precisely what they're trying to install.
- Explain precisely how they've gone about trying to install it .... and/or what they were doing at the time their problem occurred.
- information in regard to OS and PC specifications is often helpful too .... if not crucial also.
Such shouldn't be an over-expectation on our part .... or ever be an imposition upon any community member either given they've had to come "HERE" in order to download the files they're having having difficulty with in the first instance.
What I'm trying to "suggest" here is .... an AIRBUS operator doesn't go to BOEING for assistance with AIRBUS related engineering/maintenance .... and it's never a great idea to go to seek advice and resolutions from unqualified/non-certified tradesmen either .... as such can only prolong problems or create other worse issues as a result.
Therefore "COME HOME TO MAMA" (to HJG) .... for all technical support in relation to HJG (only) supplied files
We're only too pleased to try'n assist .... as this group not only prides itself in what it offers, but also, is equally proud of the support it tries to provide as well .... to the extent that 95% (if not 100%) of all reported issues are "satisfactorily resolved" or otherwise "adequately explained" .... and all because we like to try'n ensure people enjoy what we've labored to offer.
Needless to say that 90% of reported issues are indeed "PILOT ERROR" on the part of the End User .... although we've been known to make the odd mistake too and which are usually quickly rectified, by us, upon being reported
Nobody should feel foolish in regard to stating any particular problem or for not understanding certain details associated with some of what we offer .... and more-so given we try to conduct technical support here based on a philosophy that "no question is ever a dumb one" .... especially when people genuinely don't understand and are in need of assistance.
The only time people will ever get the "short shift" or have "the rug pulled out from beneath them", by us here, is if they're ever abusive, unreasonable, a constant irritation, or are otherwise disrespectful toward any of our team or other community members .... but having said that .... I feel 3 (only) permanent bannings "of certain individuals" from this forum (and for justifiable reasons), over our 20 years of existence, is not only an enviable record in our favor, but, is also indicative of our tolerance and commitment to what, we say, we like to try'n do to for the benefit of everyone else's enjoyment

I also noticed here were 2 model files in the zipped folder for the base plane, one named "model.early" and one named "model.early_S2HK". I deleted the second one and renamed the first simply "model" to match all the planes that came with FSX. Still nothing shows up
