This'll likely be my last HJG presentation .... for the year. These are Erik's latest productions .... supported by official portraits .... along with a bit of historical information in relation to the primary aircraft subject featured within this presentation as there's "a bit more" to it than may meet the eye. To explain this I'm going to draw upon some of the data I presented earlier within this thread, and combine that into this one, for reasons that'll become apparent as (if) this presentation is digested. I'll start by saying DM represented 2 basic versions of the "STANDARD VC10 in civil form" .... as follows .... VC10 1101 (full PAX configuration) VC10 1103 (convertible PAX/freight or combi configuration featuring a port side forward fuselage main deck cargo door .... though this detail isn't represented/animated in the DMFS VC10 1103 model). To put it very simply .... "aircraft configuration/s and operating weight/s" are the primary factors which differentiate these two basic aircraft type versions. We're still discovering what we can do in order to "better emphasize these differences" (in so far as FS performances are concerned) among what's offered "HERE" and as part of HJG's expansion of the DMFS VC10 flight line, but, without undoing any of what DM's labored over many years to produce and offer. G-ARTA, C/N 803, was the VICKERS prototype and demonstrator for the VC10 series of aircraft and is the primary focus of this presentation. It was rolled out on April 15th 1962 and first flew on June 29th 1962. During it's flight testing and development this aircraft was designated, by VICKERS, as an "VC10 1100". During 1969, and by which time VICKERS development of it's VC10 was cancelled, this particular aircraft was refurbished for civil use .... and as such re-designated a "VC10 1109" .... then sold to LAKER AIRWAYS whom immediately leased it to MEA and with whom it served as OD-AFA from February 1st 1968 until March 1st 1969. Upon the conclusion of its MEA lease, this aircraft re-acquired its original UK registration (G-ARTA) on April 15th 1969, then entered service with BRITISH UNITED AIRWAYS on April 18th 1969 .... named "Loch Ness". TO PRESENT THIS PARTICULAR AIRCRAFT (G-ARTA) AND BUA, CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS, and BRITISH CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS IN A TIME LINE .... BUA was formed during 1960 (through the merger of AIRWORK and HUNTING CLAN AIR TRANSPORT). The airline began acquiring VC10's (1103/combi aircraft) from 1964. During 1970 it was sold to CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS .... and from which time the airlines fleet supported "CALEDONIAN//BUA" titles before being re-branded "BRITISH CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS" during 1971. By this time the airlines fleet was composed of 4 VC10's (an 1109 in the form of G-ARTA .... and three 1103's with combi/convertible configuration in the form of G-ASIW/-ASIX and G-ATDJ). The VC10 was retired from BRITISH CALEDONIOAN service during 1974. The primary subject of this "time line presentation" .... again VC10 1109 G-ARTA .... was damaged beyond economic repair as the result of a heavy landing at LHR on January 28th 1972, after a ferry flight from LGW, and scrapped during 1974. DAMAGE SUSTAINED BY G-ARTAVC10 1109 G-ARTA INCIDIENT REPORT: January 18TH 1972aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19720128-0TO TRY'N BRING ALL OF THIS TO A CONCLUSION NOW .... Definitive BRITISH UNITED AIRWAYS (2X variations) and a BRITISH CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS liveries are represented among DM's VC10 1103's but not in CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS//BUA form. Similarly BRITISH UNITED AIRWAYS, CALEDONIAN//BUA, and BRITISH CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS liveries have never been represented among the DM's VC10 1101's .... until now and "thanks to Erik INGRAM. In regard to the MEA (OD-AFA) livery represented by Erik .... this "IS NOT" the same livery as that produced as an 1103, by DM, and features a number of differences consistent with how this particular aircraft appeared whilst in service with this airline. Each of the subjects represented within this presentation are also "NEW" textures. "NONE" are composites aided by parts from any of the original DMFS VC10 textures. Here's Erik's latest productions representing VC10 1101/1109 and 1103 aircraft liveries that'll soon grace these DMFS models .... VICKERS ARMSTRONGS VC10 1100 (prototype livery) G-ARTA (1962)VC10 1109 LAKER AIRWAYS/MEA VC10 1109 OD-AFA (1969) BRITISH UNITED AIRWAYS VC10 1109 G-ARTA (1969) CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS//BUA VC10 1109 G-ARTA (1971)BRITISH CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS VC10 1109 G-ARTA (1972)CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS//BUA VC10 1103 (cargo door equipped version) G-ASIW (1972)"ALL BLOODY NICE WORK" Erik .... and great exploitation of the "H" in HJG ("history") and which is precisely what this group was founded to promote using FS .... 21 years ago. A little more information about the above featured VC-10 G-ARTA .... in the form of a tribute to this particular aircraft and B-CAL's operation of the type .... and which also relates the circumstances of its accident somewhat more thoroughly too .... www.british-caledonian.com/G-ARTA.htmlMark C AKL/NZ

It's likely there's no way in hell this one will make our December/Christmas 2021 website update (that's all gone to bed now), but, I'm presenting it none-the-less This's another of Erik's master pieces .... one to actually replace "his own" original masterpiece of this particular subject which we released a little while back . In his usually "conscientious and very thorough" way Erik's gone to the trouble of "IMPROVING" the blue tones in this particular livery .... so it's not only "more authentic" than that of his original production, but also, now matches the shades used on his recently released USA JET AIRWAYS DC-9's supporting the same livery version. MD-82SF USA JET AIRWAYS N831US (2018)Previously announced and also still forthcoming (as soon as the aircraft starts doing some work) is the following-linked MD-88SF since USA JET has finally put some paint on their first aircraft recently acquired from DAL (ex N978DL .... a ship one of our own HJG team members will likely have had an "up front/close and personal" association with during its former life) and had converted to pure freighter configuration by AEI .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9997/new-md-aircraft-base-packNow we know what the aircraft looks like in the new/updated livery of its operator Erik's looking after this one too. The images supporting the above-linked presentation feature the old livery (and in the earlier and less precise shade of blue) .... "for convenience" .... BUT .... this new base pack, and its FDE, is otherwise "release-ready" once its definitive texture's been finalized. Mark C AKL/NZ

In the meantime, here are some US government-issue 727s spanning several decades. The FAA acquired a single new-build 727-61 registered N127 in 1966; it was used alongside the two KC-135As in the development of the US high-altitude airway system, as well as for various administrative tasks. This is how it appeared around 1970: Several secondhand 727s were added to the fleet throughout the 1970s; one of these was N78, seen circa 1976. It was turned over the the US Air Force as a C-22A in 1983. Another arrived in the form N40, a former Eastern 100C model. Initially it simply had the FAA logo and tail titles applied on its original livery. By 1992, it had received a proper, if rather plain, paint job with the Department of Transportation's symbol on the tail. It was later equipped with winglets, and it still survives in a static test capacity at the FAA's facility in Atlantic City, NJ. Finally, we have N46, originally acquired as N77 in 1975. It wears this clearly Air Force One-inspired scheme, and as with N40, can still be found at the Atlantic City airport as a test article.

Five for the "FS FEDS" aye First one's similar, but not identical, to the CV880-22M livery we host .... and from around the same period too. Thought that third one unmistakeably showed it's origins .... as identified/clarified. A nice selection Erik .... to later accompany what we already offer representing the "THE FEDS"/US aviation regulators, safety, and investigatory police .... if that not summarizing them inappropriately or otherwise too strongly Mark C AKL/NZ

That can be sort of accurate sometimes Here are four more government 727s, representing some of the C-22s the Air Force operated from the 1980s to the early 2000s. 84-0193 was designated as a C-22A, and was the former N78 operated by the FAA. It spent its entire Air Force career with the 310th Military Airlift Squadron, nominally assigned to MacDill AFB, Florida, but typically flew out of bases and airports in the Panama Canal Zone, including during Operation Just Cause. It was equipped with a VIP suite originally intended for an airplane ordered by the Shah of Iran before his 1979 overthrow. Here's how it looked around 1986, in this fairly standard-issue transport scheme. By 1989-90, it had gotten this much more subdued scheme, and appeared this way while assisting with airlift during Operation Just Cause in Panama. It was retired soon after in 1991, and was finally disposed of at Davis-Monthan AFB in February 2021. In addition, four ex-commercial 727s were acquired as C-22Bs, and served with the 201st Airlift Wing of the Washington DC Air National Guard. They were used primarily as regular personnel transports, and reportedly kept their Pan Am interior fittings all the way to the end of their careers. Here's how 83-4610 appeared around 1987 when relatively new in service. Finally, the C-22Bs were given this most basic version of the white scheme, as seen on 83-4615 circa 1998.

I like that .... and "THESE 4" too Apart from a few military VIP TRANSPORT and FREIGHTER configured B727's we already offer .... I think these are our first "US MILITARY" examples .... save for one (a -200) Chris TROTT represented for us some years back .... and which makes these 4 quite "UNIQUE" .... kind of/sort of Mark C AKL/NZ

"DEFINITELY THE LAST PREVIEWS/RELEASE RELATED PRESENTATION FOR 2021" .... by me at least ANYWAY .... It's official. USA JET AIRLINES' new MD-88SF (N832US .... named "The Spirit Of Ascent Unity") is now finally in-service as of the past several days. Our presentation of it has been held back .... until now .... as we were awaiting good, clear, and definitive photographic evidence in regard to how this aircraft actually appeared .... right down to its finer detailing and which Erik has superbly reproduced for us/you all. This's the first operational freighter conversion of an MD-88 (this one being a former aircraft DELTA aircraft (N978DL) .... and which was recently undertaken by AEI. This particular aircraft also demonstrates USA JET AIRLINES' latest livery too. MD-88SF USA JET AIRLINES N832US "The Spirit Of Ascent Unity" (2021)This particular texture subject requires "it's own" MD-88SF specific aircraft base pack .... which "WE DO" have "awaiting release". Mike and myself prepared for this one back in June and in anticipating this of this aircraft's eventual service entry. It'll use the HJG hosted "SOUTHEY" EFIS/glass version MD-80/B17-200 panel .... our recommendation for it, but, which is FS2004 (only) compatible despite the fact this 3D model, and it's supporting FDE, "are" both FSX portable. This new MD-80SF addition will also use Benoit's "NEW" MD-80 sound pack .... already released and available here, at HJG, since earlier this year and as separate FS2004 and FSX specific audio. Not sure if we can accommodate this new subject into our December/Christmas release .... BUT .... we'll see what we can do Mark C AKL/NZ
