In order to kick start our new 2021 year we're releasing a few "FIXED" files .... as well as a couple of "NEW" fantasy texture subjects too.

The "FIXED" files are as follows ....


1. REPUBLIC AIRLINES DC-9-14 N8914E (1982)


As previously reported the original FLTSIM.XX data for this texture listed this aircraft subject incorrectly as a DC-9-30 .... "all fixed now" and additionally this particular texture's also been upgraded to a "32.888 NO MIPS" format making it a wee bit sharper than the original.

Use the above texture subject with the following recommended HJG supplied aircraft base pack, panel, and sound pack files ....

2. EVERTS AIR CARGO MD-82SF N73444 (2013)


As previously reported also the original FLTSIM.XX data for this particular texture was "un-be-known to us" incorrectly compiled and would have resulted in this subject not being recognized and displayed by FS .... "all fixed now".

Use the above texture subject with the following recommended HJG supplied aircraft base pack, panel, and sound pack files ....

"MD-82SF" Aircraft Base Pack.
"MD-80" Panel (either Golding White or Red analogue versions - FS2004 compatible only).

We still have a couple of other replacement textures .... plus some other missing files to restore as well, but, I need to work in conjunction with Peter's availability in order to get these uploaded .... SO .... these other files will be added and announced within this thread later.

THEN .... we've a stock pile of some 140 (+) "NEW" textures to release (as our first official website update for this 2021 year) and which we're wrestling with at the moment .... SO .... expect an announcement in regard to these also as soon as we can complete the necessary work.

Over the past few weeks I've been further updating and fine-tuning some of our forum based reference material.

Be advised re edits which have now been applied to the reference documentation for each of the following HJG supplied simulations ....


1. Our forum based "DC-9 TEXTURE INVENTORY" now states the correct/"recommended" engine type aircraft base pack/s and engine type panel/s for each individual texture. This's something I've been meaning to address for quite a while but have only recently had time to attend to. Use the following link to quickly access this data ....

2. The forum based manuals for both our "B707" and "C-135" simulations have now been updated/further fine-tuned/expanded/perfected .... where I've considered it appropriate to do so. In regard to the "C-135 manual" .... and with exception of all B707 panel references within this particular manual (since these simulations each use HJG B707 panel assignments) .... all original B707 references have now been edited out/replaced with the appropriate C-135 aircraft type referencing. PLEASE NOTE: It "IS NOT" necessary to replace any of the aircraft base packs, panels/gauges, sound packs, or FDE for either of these B707 and C-135 simulations .... "NO CHANGES" have been applied to any of this material since their "DECEMBER 15TH 2020" re-release. The applied editing relates to their supporting manuals/documentation "ONLY". In addition to this "NONE" of the previously recommended flight and handling procedures have been altered either (it's simply not necessary to do so). Again the applied edits are simply to clarify and further improve the compiled technical referencing "ONLY".

As we put together our next "very large" website update (requiring "A LOT" of work by 2 people) we hope to present a wee bit more within this particular thread and ahead of this next intended release, so, stay tuned .... and we'll try'n attend to what we can "as we can".

I presume the WX ambiance evidenced within that video must be reflective of current meteorological conditions in, and around, both Quebec City and Montreal at the moment .... a typical wintry day "a la Canadien"


A couple of comments I'd like to make based on what's presented within the above audio-visual production .... as well as other recently presented developments too


1. The DC-9 panels we host here at HJG "ARE NOT" FSX compatible. The DC-9 panels (by WIGGINTON and available at FS.COM) used within Benoit's presentation are essentially the same as those we offer here, but, "ARE" FSX portable. There are some differences between these and our own DC-9 panels .... the main differences being a small number of alternative FSX compatible gauges employed to replace those that weren't FSX portable within what we offer. The editor of these panels states these productions are "MOSTLY COMPATIBLE" with the HJG DC-9 offerings (our own DC-9 base packs, 3D models, and FDE "ARE" and always have been FSX portable .... as evidenced per Benoit's video) .... and to the extent that the said editor has also stated "the HJG DC-9 manual is still applicable" to these non-HJG hosted panels too. There may however be some items that don't function, or don't function as well, as what we provide within the FS2004 compatible DC-9 panels offered here. Anyone intending to use these other "FSX'ed and non-HJG sponsored panels" must appreciate that despite their said compatibility with what we offer HJG "DOES NOT/CANNOT" provide technical support for these other productions.


2. The JT8D-7 DC-9 sound packs featured within above audio-visual presentation are the 2nd installment of "NEW AND CUSTOMIZED" DC-9 and MD-80 specific sound packs currently being produced by Benoit .... the intention being to offer "separate FS2004 and FSX specific" audio versions of these files representing the following DC-9 SERIES engine types ....


DC-9 P&W JT8D-7

DC-9 P&W JT8D-9 (also used for D-11, -D-15, and D-17 engine versions of these simulations)

MD-80 P&W JT6D-217/-219)


Each of these sound packs also will be offered as "separate F2004 and FSX specific Flight Deck & Exterior (FD) and Wing View & Exterior (WV) version audio files" .... as has been Benoit preferences in regard to most of his more recent FS sound productions. Here's a little information about these "FD" and "WV" based audio perspectives so everyone has a better understanding of what these imply ....

All flight deck based audio is suffixed "FD". These particular sound packs are intended for those whom prefer high-quality audio based exclusively upon what's heard from a "flight deck perspective" only .... and with high-fidelity external sound added. What's heard on the flight deck is quite different from the PAX cabin environment aboard any civil jetliner. For e.g .... when using this particular sound pack one will be treated to the predominant sounds of flight deck based avionics, and wind friction in proportion to acceleration/deceleration and with very little engine noise actually being audible, and when selecting the flaps and landing gear one will only hear "clicking" of the associated levers .... and a whole lot more.

All wing view/cabin based audio files are suffixed "WV". These particular sound packs are intended for those whom prefer high-quality audio based exclusively upon what's heard from a "PAX cabin perspective" only .... and with the same high-fidelity external sound added also. What's heard within the PAX cabin is quite different from the flight deck environment aboard any civil jetliner. For e.g .... when using this particular sound pack one will be treated to the predominant sound of cabin air conditioning and a different type wind friction in proportion to acceleration/deceleration and with much more audible engine noise being audible too, and when selecting the flaps and landing gear one will only hear the associated flap motors along with the muffled "rumble" of the landing gear being extended .... and a whole lot more too.

HJG/Benoit provides the audio options/solutions for us all .... and whilst we 'll make all the usual recommendations the choice, as to what people prefer to install to create the FS audio ambiance of their own preference, will be left entirely up to each individual end user to decide
