"WELCOME" folks .... to this 2nd (and "SURPRISE") HJG release for the 2021 year.

This particular website update might .... given the nature of its content .... be very appropriately summarized as being "HJG's Best Of British" release

We're grateful to David MALTBY for his kind permission allowing SIMVIATION/HJG to host his BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DH106 COMET, HS121 TRIDENT, and VC10/C1K simulations.

We're also equally grateful to Ben WATSON for his assisting our communication with David MALTBY .... without which this hosting simply wouldn't have been possible.

A little about what's transpired to enable all this ....

The DMFS website was hosted privately, but, almost all of its files were actually hosted by SIMVIATION.COM .... whom is also HJG's service provider too.

As some will be aware .... the DMFS website domain expired during mid May and as a result this great and long established FS resource was no longer easily accessible

Access to most of this data was possible though through an archived facility, but, a number of files appeared to have been "lost". Fortunately we'd much earlier preserved the entire content of the DMFS website .... and as a result were able to easily recover/rescue "everything"

To cut a long story short ....

Although the DMFS resource is by no means new material (some of HJG's is actually much older though ) we considered it was "FAR TOO VALUABLE" an FS resource to remain inaccessible, so, motivated by this sentiment we resolved to contact David MALTBY .... through Ben .... in order to request authorization for HJG to host all of these great simulations and to which he kindly consented. This's how the DMFS inventory of "Great British" classic jetliners have landed at HJG.

Many already have, or are otherwise well aware of, these simulations .... but .... others have still yet to discover them and which we now hope will be the case .... through SIMVIATION/HJG.

Just a couple of important details though that we'd like to clarify ....

This project "MUST NOT" be referred to as HJG BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DH106 COMET, HS121 TRIDENT, and VC10/C1K simulations. In appreciating this resource let's afford it, and their rightful owner/David MALTBY, the respect each deserve .... by continuing to honor and refer to this particular project as the "DAVID MALTBY FLIGHT SIM BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DH106 COMET, HS121 TRIDENT, and VC-10/C1K simulations. .... hosted by SIMVIATION/HJG

The DMFS files we host haven't been altered in any way, shape, or form. Each file represents "the last version" as was released by David MALTBY.

At the moment we've no plans to upgrade any of these files (famous last words though), but, may consider doing so in the future .... BUT .... "not without further authorization from David MALTBY" of course .... SO .... we'll see what happens in the not too distant future

To support these DMFS simulations we've added a new board to our forum .... entitled "DAVID MALTBY FLIGHT SIM SUPPORT". All queries relating to these simulations should be posted on this following-linked new HJG forum board ....

Imagery relating to these DMFS simulations may be presented on the "HJG SCREENSHOTS" forum board though .... as it's now part of the HJG ensemble of FS offerings.

We/HJG are still learning these simulations .... and it's possible some of the FS community (CBFS in particular) will be very much more familiar/competent with these files than we currently are (we're all quick learners here though). Some people may prefer to continue directing their queries relating to these DMFS simulations to CBFS .... and that's fine .... and of course the team at CBFS are more than welcome to assist us by providing support for these DMFS simulations on the HJG forum too .... in fact we invite them and hope they'll do so since we're "all in the same game together"

Also in regard to support for these DMFS simulations ....

I've compiled "basic manuals" for each aircraft type and which describe the content of each DMFS simulation, its auto-installation process, along with information concerning the recommended panel and sound assignments for each. This documentation is available on our new DMFS forum board.

PLEASE NOTE: Each forum based HJG manuals for these DMFS simulations should be considered "a constant WIP". This information will be updated, and further improved, as we progress this project.

PLEASE NOTE ALSO: Reference is made within this documentation to "Hi Fidelity" audio/sound pack options for each of these DMFS simulations. These "Hi-FI" sound packs have "NOT YET" been uploaded at HJG, but, "ARE" indeed on their way here. We'll announce their arrival accordingly .... so .... we ask people to patiently bear with us in the mean time. It's just that it's easier "for me" to present all of the necessary information "now" rather than having to return and edit things later on. Time being something that's not really in my favor at the moment.

PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONALLY: We've also rescued the full technical manuals, and tutorials, for each of the DMFS simulations too. We propose adding this much more thorough and descriptive data to each of the basic manual established on our new DMFS forum board .... probably within the next several days (all going well) .... and which will also be announced accordingly. In the meantime this more thorough and descriptive reference information is included within the DMFS files .... in an HTML format that's accessible and works through through the Knee Board feature within each DMFS panel and which should be referenced if anyone feels they can't wait for us.

As mentioned above .... these simulations aren't new, but, they're "GOOD" .... otherwise they simply wouldn't be offered by HJG. We hope our recent actions will be appreciated by the FS community .... in particular by that portion of the community whom has yet to discover and enjoy them.

As has been the case with every FS aircraft type HJG have ever introduced .... we "DO" plan to further expand, and hopefully further popularize, these great simulations by releasing our own textures inventories for each aircraft subject .... in fact this process has already commenced with the first 2 of "our own" BAC ONE-ELEVEN 400 textures having been included within this latest release. More will/should follow .... over time.

Again we extend our much appreciated thanks to David MALTBY for his kindly authorizing SIMVIATION/HJG to host his files .... and we also once again thank all those whom have assisted/supported this particular project coming to fruition .... "THANKS" everyone

David Maltby's simulations are by itself a fantastic work and the Comets are an essential part of all historic jetliners. So, it's good news, to have it here. Especially the Comet needs a good study of its complex panel (ADI and HSI especially) and its deep systems simulation.

As I hinted within the announcement Orientation Notes (my first reply posting) "HI-HI" type sound packs will be uploaded soon/ASAP for everything

As courtesy to DM though (he's put a lot of work into what he offered too remember .... and I don't think it's right we just pick the cherries in regard to what we want to host, so, we'll continue to offer "THE LOT" and as it all was/still is) his original "MONO" type audio will remain available here also.

Benoit's "HI-FI" sound packs (a selction of developmental audio visual presentations for which are linked within my 2 reply posting above) will be offered as "alternative" and separate FS2004 and FSX customized audio .... SO ... the choice will then be up to "each individual" as to what they prefer to use. Can't really be more fair or democratic than that

2 "HI-FI" sound packs have yet to me made (a RR SPEY 506 for the ONE-ELEVEN 200's .... and RR AVON's both with and without reverse thrust for the COMET's). It's currently planned that The COMET "HI-FI" will be preceded by earlier (albeit FS2004 only compatible at the moment) audio made several years ago by Benoit and myself .... and which will later be replaced by something "even more substantial" in the form of separate FS2004 and FSX audio productions too.

That's our audio forecast .... at the moment at least.

In respect of the "NEW" audio .... I/we do need people to appreciate these sorts of productions take time to develop properly, so, the earliest I imagine we may start to start seeing/hearing anything more in relation to these 2 other productions will probably be sometime around Christmas .... possibly even later still .... kingly understand I'm simply "NOT" prepared to pressure Benoit into hurrying projects

This is awesome, many thanks for hosting these wonderful aircraft. Although I already have them all, it is comforting to know that they will live on at HJG and perhaps, even get the odd tweak with perhaps a new livery or two.
