As stated by me earlier within this announcement ....
The HJG forum based manuals for each of the DM simulations are, and will each remain, a "constant WIP" (as is the case with all of our manuals) .... being updated, and and further improved, as we deem fit to do so. The following's just "a reminder" in as much as also being an update ....
"SECTION 1.13" of our forum based manuals for each of the DM simulations covers the subject of audio/sound pack options/recommendations. This information makes reference to "Hi Fidelity" version sound packs by Benoit PLAMONDON.
Kindly bear in mind only the "Mono" version sound packs, by David MALTBY, are currently available at HJG and for each of these simulations .
Benoit's "Hi Fidelity" sound packs are not yet available at HJG and "ARE" still being "re-engineered" (in the case of previously released files) or customized/developed (in the case of "completely new" audio productions for the COMET's and VC10's).
At this stage we can't estimate when this "Hi Fidelity" audio might become available .... and nor are we prepared to guess. These projects take "time" to develop unto perfection. It may be weeks, months, or be the near end of the year before we're able to offer this particular audio. Again we simply can't speculate at this stage. Nor are we prepared to try'n hurry Benoit's production of this material either. Everything will be available "when it's ready".
Be advised ....
The "original versions" of Benoit's "HI-FI" sound packs for the BAC ONE ELEVEN's and HS121 TRIDENT's (these aren't our intended new productions) "ARE" available from FS.COM though. A list of files names relating to each these sound packs for both of these simulations has now been compiled into
"SECTION 1:13". of the HJG forum based manuals for both of these simulations.
Be advised also ....
These presently FS.COM hosted "Hi-FI" sound packs are separate FS2004 and FSX specific productions and work "b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l-l-y" with both of these DM simulations and can be used until our new, and "superior version", audio becomes available.
PLEASE NOTE: These "Hi-FI" sound packs are also available as separate
"AI, FD" and
"WV" designated audio versions. Using the following explanations of these designations carefully select the files of your own audio preference and FS version of choice ....
The
"FD" version sound packs are intended for those preferring high-quality audio based exclusively upon what's heard from a "flight deck perspective" .... and with high-fidelity external sound added. What's heard on the flight deck is quite different from the PAX cabin environment aboard any civil jetliner. For E.G .... using these "FD" sound packs one will be treated to the predominant sounds of flight deck based avionics, and wind friction in proportion to acceleration/deceleration and with "very little engine noise" actually being audible (particularly in the case of aircraft with rear fuselage mounted engines), and when selecting both flaps and landing gear one will only hear "clicking" of the associated levers .... and a whole lot more.
The
"WV" version sound packs are intended for those preferring high-quality audio based exclusively upon what's heard from a "cabin perspective" .... and with high-fidelity external sound added. What's heard within the PAX cabin is quite different from the flight deck environment aboard any civil jetliner. For E.G .... using these "WV" sound packs one will be treated to the predominant sound of cabin air conditioning and a different type of wind friction in proportion to acceleration/deceleration and engine noise being much more audible too (as is to be expected in the case with any aircraft .... particularly in the case of aircraft with rear fuselage mounted engines), and when selecting both flaps and landing gear one will only hear the associated flap motors along along with the muffled "rumble" of the gear being extended .... and a whole lot more too.
The
"AI" version sound packs are for AI use and are FSX compatible only.
We do have Benoit's consent to upload his "original" audio at HJG, but, there's no point in our doing so only to have to remove it, and replace it, later. Despite the fact these "original" sound packs each work fine with both of these DM simulations "PATIENCE" in anticipation of the "revised and new audio" will be rewarding
Further updating of our forum based manuals for each of the HJG hosted DM simulations"WILL" be applied from here-on .... but .... such edits will tend to be of either an informative or cosmetic (or both) nature only. The procedures recommended within out forum based manuals for each of the DM simulations .... "as originally compiled by David MALTBY" .... remain "TOTALLY UNCHANGED".
