Hi friends: HJG offers two of "Heavy Metal" Airliners: The DC-10 s and the TRiSTAR's: Its a good practice to "fly somtimes one of them: Here a DC-10-10 of MEXICANA flying out of MMUN on GPS through thunderstorms: Kind regards Walter

The DC-10 is definitely a heavy-weight. It looks so bad-ass. I just flew a flight today from Melbourne to Sydney over Vatsim. Feels good to fly this plane.

Hi friends: Yes, I switched off GPS following, turned left and after passing the CB switched on GPS following again and faithfully the -10 went back on corse. In the third screenshot one can see, the CB did not harm to me and my airplane. Kind regards Walter

Hi: My airline changed the INS for the Garmin GPS 500 and 530 avoiding costly overhauls. Kind regards Walter

Glad to read that because George, Mike, and myself put "a hell of a lot of effort" into those DC-10 simulations/panels .... aided by numerous in-depth and lengthy consultations with a group of retired ex-ANZ F/E's which enabled our making those simulations/panels what they are.
Whilst all of HJG's (own or edited) panels are good .... I regard those for offer for the DC-10's as being "OR BEST" .... FS doesn't get much better than these.

Ah I thought being a DC-10 pilot, you would be using the INS or Radionav rather than the GPS.. The Garmin 500 of FS 9 has also an additional advantage over the INS: For many airports it can also show and follow approaches! Kind regards Walter P.S.: Like in real aviation the approach plates should be at hand also. The setback is that the waypoints and procedures of FS 9 are very old and most virtual ATCs demand top actual information.

I feed in the fixes in the INS, radios and fly the procedure without using GPS. Things get a little busy while having ATC in VATSIM but sure makes things interesting.
