Hello everyone! One very small issue that I have with the 1960 and 1963 liveries for the HJG 707-320 model is that there is no Afrikaans lettering on the port side of the plane. It's a very small issue, but given the "background" of the real-life reasonings of the inclusion of English and Afrikaans lettering on South African Airways aircraft, I would like this slight "error" (if it's an error, even!) to be fixed if anyone is willing. I have some links in this post with photos dated to 1960 and 1963 with ZS-CKC "at work" from a South African website, with Afrikaans lettering on the port side. Dated 1960 - note the Afrikaans lettering and "Johannesburg" lettering underneath the first of the passenger windows. Also note the Flying Springbok on the upper tail of the aircraft and painted engines. atom.drisa.co.za/index.php/1960-saa-boeing-4if you click on the URL link under "digital object metadata" you can get a higher quality picture and zoom in to see the fine details Dated 1963 - note the English and Afrikaans lettering on the starboard and port sides of the plane respectively. Note the unpainted (or repainted??) engines. atom.drisa.co.za/index.php/johannesburg-1963-jan-smuts-airport-saa-boeing-707-zs-ckc-johannesburg-2atom.drisa.co.za/index.php/johannesburg-1963-jan-smuts-airport-saa-boeing-707-zs-ckc-johannesburgThe liveries currently available are superb, but if one were to add in the Afrikaans and "Johannesburg" lettering onto the 1960 and 1963 liveries, they would be perfect! Photographic research "suggests" there's been a bit of variation in regard the titles on SAA's B707-320's and -320C's during the 1960's and possibly into the 70's too .... in regard to both English and Afrikaan titles as well as the size and style of the fonts used too. Important thing to remember though is the SAA textures we currently offer are among the first we ever produced for our B707's and are by now just on/over 20 years old. At the time these were done there was also less reference data available on the net .... so .... a lot of what we did back then was achieved with the aid of kitset decals but which we also appreciate (now) can be "inaccurate". The only way to address this issue once'n for all would be to re-do each of the textures we currently have .... a rather time consuming exercise but one which might also then be benefited by the inclusion of other period specific variations of the same livery for these B707's and which is usually the way we orient our production today. Not saying it'll be done Just saying "if done" then this'll be the best way to do so. As always whatever we do, or re-do, has to first appeal to someone with the ability to do it .... "to want to actually do it" Mark C AKL/NZ
