Hey all,
I opened up the DC-8-63F_2k4.air file in AirEd and it says it's for the DC-8 Series 62 v5.2 instead of the DC-8-63 v6.
Will this cause an issue or is it just some flavor text that wasn't changed?

Just "FLAVOR TEXT" that wasn't changed (as you conclude) and through there being no need to do so since such is of absolutely no consequence There's actually a lot more to this but it's all "FAR TOO COMPLEX" (and too long ago .... in fact it dates back to original HJG and around 2003/4) for the majority of people to be able to relate to with ease, so, I'm not going to bother trying to explain. We whom elected to do what's been done did so around 2016-ish, and for good reason/s, and what was done's worked well (better than ever before) ever since then. Whatever you do "don't" be tempted to swap (or further edit) AIR.FILES between base packs. Doing so will only .... (a) likely de-harmonize Benoit's DC-8 sound packs (offered here) since all this audio's been compiled in conjunction with certain AIR.FILE stated data for each aircraft type base pack .... and (b) the flight performance of each simulation "WILL BE" knocked out of spec too (not to mention possibly some panel data too). In summary .... use everything "as supplied" and avoid changing anything. "ALL" DC-8 base packs contain the correct data. This was checked, cross-checked, and rechecked (and some more too) throughout the lengthy period of recently applied 3D model transitions. No DC-8 FDE changes were applied consequent to the recent 3D model transition .... such wasn't deemed necessary or of any further advantage following the 2016-ish last DC-8 FDE (CFG data primarily) update. With regard to DC-8 Aircraft Base Pack version numbers: Due to late 3D model fixes these became "V6.1" (covering DC-8-50 through 73F only) and "V6.2" (covering DC-8 SHIP ONE 1958 through DC-8-43 only) between late December 2022 and mid April 2023. Be sure to use the DC-8 base packs downloadable from the following-linked forum downloads section .... Latest HJG Base Packs, Models, Panels/Gauges & Sound Packstonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/10330/latest-packs-models-panels-gaugesSee the #2 section within the above linked page .... "DC-8 LATEST AIRCRAFT BASE PACKS/3D MODELS/FDE" Disregard the Panels and Sound Packs suffix within the above section title. That was compiled "in anticipation of possible need" .... should new files be added in the future (some new/updated files "WILL" be added to this section very soon though, so again, this titles not out of place for reasons that will become obvious later on). All currently sanctioned HJG DC-8 Panels, Gauges/Core Files, and Sound Packs remain available from the (official) HJG Downloads page. Trust this satisfies your curiosity Mark C AKL/NZ
