I am new to the forum. I have tried to install several 707-120's. I have been very careful to copy everything with exactness but when I pull up the aircraft - they are listed but I have a grey aircraft with no textures. Also - I am having a challenge installing the panels. I put them in the the FSFSconv file but then in the aircraft it won't permit me to link. It says that I cannot link to the fsfsconv file. Your advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Hey..Sounds as if all you have is the base package..Or else you added to the aircraft config wrong..If you need textures(liveries) you will find them below where you get each aircraft (download) from..
Now for your guages you probably missing a download for it..Go back to where you got your 707 panel and the first file there is what you also need...(boeing 707 guages).... just add that...
Don't forget to add the aeromusical sound files to your aircraft ..they are awsome...........Mason
Hope this helps

"JOHNT" .... you must install your Aircraft Base Packs first .... it looks like you've done that correctly for starters.
You must then seperately download each of your textures of choice .... and add these to your Aircraft Base Pack .... as well as adding the "ADD TO AIRCRAFT" data to your AIRCRAFT.CFG file.
Also .... make sure that the textures you are downloadig are indeed for that particular aircraft type .... for e.g. B707-120 Base Pack models will support B707-120 textures only .... don't mix and match aircraft types/textures.
Make sure you change the [FLTSIM.X] entry for your first CFG entry to read [FLTSIM.0] .... and that all subsequent data entries appear in correct numercal sequence.
Check you downloaded texture folder names agree absolutely with whatever appears on the TEXTURE= line contained within each [FLTSIM.X] data entry .... by default these should appear correctly on all associated "ADD TO AIRCRAFT" data.
Make sure you have not inadvertantly got a valid texture folder still contained witthing another temporary containing folder from your downloaded ZIP file.
Any one of the above errors will result in these models appearing in FS but devoid of all textures.
Below is a copy and paste of my own B707-120 CFG file for you to study .... the important data is bold typed ....
[fltsim.0] title=B707-120 American Airlines 1959 sim=B707-120 model=04 panel= sound= texture=american59 checklists= description=Boeing 707-120 in 1959 American Airlines livery atc_id=N7517A atc_heavy=0 ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=707-120 ui_variation=American Airlines 1959 atc_airline=AMERICAN atc_flight_number=120
[fltsim.1] title=B707-120 Western Airlines 1960 sim=B707-120 model=12 panel= sound= texture=western60 checklists= description=Boeing 707-120 in 1960 Western Airlines livery atc_id=N74614 atc_heavy=0 ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=707-120 ui_variation=Western Airlines 1960 atc_airline=WESTERN atc_flight_number=120
PLEASE NOTE: SOME OF THE CONVENTIONS I USE ABOVE MAY FOR REASONS MY OWN PERSONAL CHOICE APPEAR DIFFRENTLY TfROM THAT DOWNLOADED .... but .... this should convey an impression of what and where you need to check data-wise.
Hope that helps !

"JOHNT" .... we recommend installing all our panels inside the FSFSCONV folder .... but .... you must then also open the default "panel" folder contained inside your B707-120 (I presume) Aircraft Base Pack and ensure the data entry appearing on the PANEL.CFG displays the correct ALIAS= information .... you must change this data manually.
The installed B707-120 PANEL folder is named as follows ....
panel.b707-120.1959
That is the folder you should have installed inside you FSFSCONV folder .... make sure it's not still ocontained within a temporary containing folder from your downloaded ZIP file.
The "panel" folder inside your B707-120 Aircraft Base Pack will contain a PANEL.CFG folder which by default will read like this ....
[fltsim] alias=B737_400\panel
To correctly link to the B707-120 PANEL folder installed inside your FSFSCONV folder you "MUST" edit the PANEL.CFG folder to read precisely as follows ....
[fltsim] alias=fsfsconv\panel.b707-120.1959
Check that you have indeed donethis correvtly.
The slightest error/"typo" will result in the panel not being displayed with your aircraft in FS.
"IF" .... you are sure no error has been made and that all procedures have been followed "TO THE LETTER" .... then simply move your B707-120 PANEL to your B707-120 Aircraft Base Pack folder and that should resolve things quite nicely for you.
Hope that helps !

It's "AEROMUSICA" .... not Aeromusical .... "DIOS MIO senor" .... get it right lad .... "por favor" ! ;D FYI "JOHNT" .... These soundpacks should be installed inside your Aircraft Base Packs and replace completly the default "sound" folders already contained there. Have fun ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Just a minor FYI, but it is possible to alias sounds just as you do panels. Saves significant drive space, which can be a rare commodity on an FS drive.

"YES" .... he can do that .... as probably 90% of folk already do in fact.
Certainly there's no need to duplicate the same soundpacks into each and every appropriate Aircraft Base Pack.
I assumed he knew this though .... or .... would probably be able to figure it out on the basis of my abovementioned panel aliassing instructions.

As I said, just a minor FYI for those who don't know. I know all about it, but am just too lazy to make the effort - no wonder I run out of drive space so fast lol!
