Hi folks, First of all, I am very glad to use your fantastic smoking jetliners. My favourite is the DC-8. It is really a great pleasure to fly her, even better with the CIVA INS. I use her under FS2004 without any problems. My colleagues said she will look bad under FSX as all the FS2004 models... but not ! She is looking fantastic ! I prefer the chrome effects more than in FS9 for example. All the systems work nicely, it is really great job ! My only concern is about the smoke effects: see picture. This is the DC8-30, currently without any FSX modifications, and I did not push key I either, it is coming nicely by default. It seems there is a coordinate-system problem with this effect. Is it possible to release an update, or explain me what to change to look nice ? Thank you in advance, and keep up the good work guys. Robert.

I've corrected this personally, but forgot to update the cfg. Will look into it a.s.a.p.
It's just a matter of x,y,z's that have switched places from FS9 to FSX....
Btw. your colleagues talks bullocks... she looks absolutely wonderful as does all the HJG aircraft equally in FS9 and FSX.

Have you not switched to the FSX aircraft.cfg (delete the original aircraft.cfg, then rename aircraft_fsx.cfg to aircraft.cfg)?

No, I did not change it. I made a comparison, and did not found anything different than the addition of [GPWS] section... maybe I missed something important ?
I used to analyze and tune a bit my aircraft, and I only added the missing [GPWS] section to my FS9 config.

I am sorry very much, I just found the mistake: the [smokesystem] section contains the new coordinates for FSX ... and I did not copy that too.

Thanks, I solved that. By not looking good they thought about a common bug appears on some aircrafts in FSX: in some portitions of the plane the texture is missing and became grey, or the reflection look crappy. We do not have enough FSX experience, therefore it is still an annoying and unsolved bug. Fortunately the DC-8 is nice. Only the cockpit inside section and the engine "exhaust tubes" are black but we can live with it.

This should be completely curable ..... as per Dan's advice as follows .... "The black windows are cured by installing FSX sp2. end of query. There are NO problems with windows in FSXSp2 (which has now been long time free available from fsinsider"See study the last several posting throughout the following DC8 AP related thread (long since repaired) for photographic evidence from FSX to support .... tonymadgehjg.proboards98.com/index.cgi?board=questionsonfsxandhjg&action=display&thread=1668Mark C AKL/NZ
