This time I downloaded the 707-138 base pack Version 7.0 and the 1960 - VH-EBF - 707-138 Textures by Tony Madge. I followed all the Instructions, example, Copied the base pack to my FS9 aircraft folder then into that folder I copied the, 1960 - VH-EBF - 707-138 Textures by Tony Madge,. Opened the aircraft cfg file and pasted the Quantas cfg, changed [x] to 0 and before that I checked to see if the read only was unchecked, which it was unchecked. When I saved it, it did it again. Does this look correct? I know there is something not write. I just can't see it. Please have patients, I'm new to all of this but I'm willing to learn. When you say "it did it again." does that mean you got the error message: Cannot create the C:\Users\Marce\AppData\Local\Temp1_b707c.zip\B707C\aircraft.cfg file. OR does it mean the aircraft does not show up in FS? If the former, then it still looks like you have not unzipped the files properly. Here's what I do: 1) Download the zip files from HJG and save them on the Desktop. 2) Go into explorer (NOT IE!) and create a new folder on your C drive. In your case name it 707-138 3) Right click on the zip HJG files and when the extraction wizard comes up, tell it to put the extracted files into your new folder... 707-138. 4) Now after extraction I adjust the cfg file, panel cfg, sounds, and gauges as needed within that new folder. I do all of this BEFORE I put the plane into FS. Try the first 3 steps and then see if you can properly save your adjusted cfg before moving on to the panel, sounds, gauges, etc. Mike

Hello, this is my CFG for the same model but a other texture .. [fltsim.0] title=Boeing 707-138 QANTAS Airways 1959 sim=B707-138 model= panel= sound= texture=qantas_1959_138_vh-ebf kb_checklists = ..\b707_120\Boeing707-120_check kb_reference = ..\b707_120\Boeing707-120_ref ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=707-138 ui_variation=QANTAS Airways (1959) description=HJG B707-138 repaint by Michael VERLIN & Glenn HAIR atc_heavy=0 atc_id=VH-EBF atc_airline=QANTAS atc_flight_number=138 [General] performance=Length: 40.99 m (134 ft 6 in)\nWing span: 39.88 m (130 ft 10 in)\nMGTOW: 116,600 kg (257,000 lb)\nPower: (4) P&W JT3C-6 @ 57.8 kN (13,000 lb) each\nPassengers: 131 (two-class), 150 (one-class)\nRange: 7,870 km (4,250 nm)\nOriginal Design: Gary Carlson\n\n atc_type=BOEING AIRCRAFT atc_model=B701 Work great for me ..... OK .... from what I can see above .... per your specimen CFG data .... everything appears correctly edited, but, just to cross check what you've actually done versus what you should have done ....
You should have copied & pasted the [FLTSIM.XX] data provided within the ADD TO AIRCRAFT data file included with your QANTAS texture .... changing the XX suffix to read "0" assuming this's the first texture .... this essential data should have been copied & pasted to the AIRCRAFT.CFG file within your B707-138 AIRCRAFT BASE PACK .... and this edit then "SAVED".
Normally it shouldn't be necessary to do more than that !
If your CFG edit won't save .... or .... you're getting a "CAN'T BE CREATED" messages .... then it's likely your AIRCRAFT.CFG file is still incorrectly formatted .... in particular the READ ONLY attribute mustn't have been canceled properly.
You need to check this again .... taking care this time to ensure cancel that READ ONLY attribute (if a still activated) is indeed properly canceled .... then SAVE that modification.
This should be done before you attempt to edit the CFG file with your ADD TO AIRCRAFT data.
So long as everything is done correctly then there's absolutely no reason why any of our aircraft shouldn't appear within the FS AIRCRAFT SELECTION MENU and be available for one's FS enjoyment.
