I'll leave the answer up to Mark, as there is no evidence shown in either the aircraft_fsx.cfg or the panel_fsx.cfg all settings related to the radios looks in order.
If the gauge is showing but the digits aren't it might be due to a missing reference to a mask-file or an actual missing mask-file ... but as I said I'll leave it up to Mark and/or the gauge programmer...
Most shamefully I must admit that I haven't installed the 727 on my FSX system .... (yet)

NO PROBLEMO Dan ! I'll work through this with George, and I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of this .... however long it takes us ! In the meantime .... I'd still like to hear from any other FSX users experiencing the same issue, in order to gauge just how widespread this may be .... if it is indeed at all widespread. Mark C BOG/CO

Thanks for getting on this so quickly. The following is a strange sequence of events that seems to consistently reproduce the missing indicators problem: - On the ground: No problems with indicators
- Take-Off: No problems through take-off, gear & flap retraction
- 1 Minute after take-off: no problem until I use the following click sequence - Aircraft>Fuel & Payload>Change Fuel>OK (no changes made)>OK - Frequency digits are gone
- After a variable period: digits reappear but disappear as soon as I use the "Change Fuel" sequence above
- Landing: If I check the digits immediately after landing, they are OK and remain that way
My System: - Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboard
- 4 MB Ram
- Nvidia 8800 GTS
- Vista 32
- FSX - SP2
Charlie - KSBP

OK .... that's more-or-less precisely what my other colleague reported to me privately too.
I now need to know if more FSX users are experiencing this. I need to establish whether or not only 1 operatinmg system is involved here, or, if the problem is more general within FSX.
Again .... I know it doesn't happen in FS2004 .... at least not from my experience over many weeks of testing in that sim version.
Myself, and George will both be watching this thread accordingly.
I can't yet say how quickly a fix may be forthcomming .... if the problem does prove more general.

hi! new to the forum and i have had the same problems with the disappearing freq. thought it was happening right after takeoff but it was ok throughout the climb. but! i noticed they disappeared when i clicked the "L" key for turning on the lights at that time. i'm using boeing 727-100 and 727-200 and their different panels. both have the same problem with freq. disappearing. hope this helps and will keep playing with it.

OK .... that's 3 of you reporting precisely the same problem, and all 3 of you FSX users too .... so .... it looks like there is an FSX snag with the gauge set that must be reconciled .... only I can't say/guess how long it's going to take to pin-point whatever is causing this and to rectify it.
Bear with us please !

Hello everyone! First let me say how much I love the new 727-200 ADV for FSX! I have been checking daily to see if it was out since it was announced. It was one of my favorite planes in FS2000, 2002, 2004 and now FSX!! THANK YOU!!!!
I can confirm the numbers go away after hitting the "L" key while in flight. I could not make it happen with the GAS window. I noticed the frequency was still recognized and the plane was following it in LOC mode. I didn't notice when but the numbers came back on. I first noticed they were back on after landing. I7-940, 3G RAM, GTX360, WIN Vista64, FSX Acceleration Hope this helps. Thanks again! Earl

did another flight and i didn't use "L" key this time and turned on lights by mouse clicking and thought that would do it. but! this time i was in flight and went to click the map icon and when i came back the freq. were gone. came back on later while approaching the airport i took off from. still the best aircraft and panel i've seen in a long time and i can't afford or my pc can't handle captainsim 727.

I have the same problem with 727-100 "Late" and 727-200ADV panels: COM1/2 and NAV1/2 disapear in flight. The plane was still following the course, but witouth any indication on radio stacks.
FSX SP2 / Vista Ultimate 32 Bit SP1/ Registered FSUIPC. AMD4200+ / 2 GB / 8600GT
Off topic: I also had experienced a lot of CTD with the 727-200ADV plane in the "External View". -----------
Now the most important: the 727 is great and these problems are only small details.

If the these mysteriously disappearing radio frequencies affect 1 B727 type panel in FSX .... then it'll likely to affect "ALL" of them in FSX since the gauge programming is identical. CTD's .... that's a new one on me .... but .... anything can cause these (FS, or PC internal routines etc). One thing I've noted (with "ALL FS AIRCRAFT" .... and not just ours) is that if one cycles from panel view to external view too much, or, between too many different aircraft within the same FS session, then that can result in a CTD. I've also observed this to be more prevalent on some PC's than others. I've also noted that security systems on some systems do seem to cause .... not a CTD .... but .... the FS window to reduce back to desktop .... again occurring on some systems more than others. It's hard to put a finger on this at all. Getting back to these mysteriously disappearing radio stack frequencies though ....I want to appear quite frank and open with everyone regarding this unfortunate issue .... At this stage we don't know what's causing the problem .... so .... by virtue of that truth a solution may not be quickly forthcomming. All I can say is that we are aware of the problem .... and .... we are doing our best to try'n pin-point what's causing it. I also need to say that each of these panels were tested by me (personally) over more than 2 months during their development .... but .... in FS2004 (I'm not an FSX user myself) .... and with "NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER" being realised, or, they simply wouldn't have been released. These panels were also developed with FSX in mind too .... of course .... but .... it seems we've screwed up somewhere regarding the radio stack information (only) and since everything else appears to be working fine within FSX. Just prior to releasing these panels I was made aware of a possible radio stack issue .... reported by the 1 and only FSX tester I do have. I did mention this internally .... but .... without addittional FSX testors to aid me I couldn't determine whether this issue might be widesperead (which it appears to be), or, just locally based on the PC of my one and only FSX assistant. I also need to say that whilst I've no shortage of FS2004 testers .... I do have major difficulties finding good/reliable FSX testers which may be considered partly the reason why we've got this particular issue at the moment. To those whom are experiencing this problem .... "I AM SORRY"
Again .... we "ARE" doing our best to resolve it for you .... but .... this may take "TIME"
Bear with me .... "PLEASE" !!!! Mark C BOG/CO

Mark, George and all HJG, The classic airliners are my favorite planes to fly. I am always amazed at their realism. They make FSX and all FS series worth while to me.
I think I speak for most people who are members here and anyone who downloads and enjoys your fantastic models. Mark, You don't need to apologize to anyone! This little quirk with the disappearing numbers is no thing at all! The plane still works as though they are still there. You just can't see them for a few minutes. I love the 727 them most even with this small annoyance. Please take whatever time is necessary to fix it. Meanwhile I'll be enjoying the 727 big time!
I would be happy to run tests for you if you like. I have experience with beta testing. Please feel free to drop me an email if you want to discuss offline.

Thank you for those kind and appreciated comments "EBUICE" I do feel the need to appologise .... on behalf of HJG .... for all the reasons I stated above, and because that's just the way I like to do business with everyone and despite the fact that we're not a commercial business .... and because we do strive for perfection here too even though we may occassionally miss the target once in a while If even 50% of the community whom we try to please here were as understanding, co-operative, and as pleasant to deal with .... as you appear to be .... then I might actually start to enjoy more what we all try to do here Once again .... we are working to try to resolve the problem Thanks again for your much appreciated support .... and once we feel we have a solution then "I WILL MOST CERTAINLY" take you up on your kind offer of assistance .... for sure ! ebuice has voiced my thoughts precisely. Your, HJG's, hard work is very much appreciated and a little hiccup is no biggie. I'm confident if a fix can be had, y'all will get it done. Patience is a virtue I practice quite often.

ditto!!! have to give thanks because it is freeware at payware quality and seems to be the one of the few sites who care about the older jets and sucessful effort put into classic fsx adapted 727 panel. i just make note of the runway i will be landing at before taking off just in case. now if someone comes up with an american airlines 727-200 texture then i'm really happy!
