I am sure you are right. But the panel is in the right place (FSFSCONV directory), the panel_fsx is now panel.cfg, it is correctly addressed by the PANEL folder of the B707 (otherwise I would not see the background of the panel or, better, I would not see the B707 at all in the list of available planes). I think that the problem is related to access rights. The panel is loaded...so the problem is from the panel to the gauge. It behaves as if the files 707-late.gau etc. are not in the gauge directory but they are there...I can see them :-(
And they are accessible to everybody, I removed all protections. Bu if there is a way to totally deactivate the UAC in Vista, that maybe can help...I'll check tonight.
thanks for your support, I really appreciate. Where is EKCH, in Denmark?

Have you tried to let FSX run as an Administrator? ... Right click the short-cut/ .exe file and mark "Run as Administrator" ... that might also do something .....
I'm currently trying out Windows7, and I have no problems... but I must admit that I've never used Vista ... going directly from XP to Win7 :-)

Btw. please tell me where you have created the fsfsconv folder, and if you have modified the FSX.cfg accordingly?

Hello Giovanni;
First let me tell you that I have just installed the HJG 707-120 aircraft into FSX following the instructions to the letter and all is OK. Panel and gauges all appear and look good.
Like you I had just recently purchased a new computer which came with the Vista Home Premium operating system. As I mentioned to you previously I experienced a number of problems with the Vista that I did not have with XP.
The first problem was that the textures did not show which was remedied by unchecking the Direct X10 preview in FSX. My second problem was that I was unable to change the CFG files texts. This was remedied by disabling my User Acount Control using the procedure outlined in the link above.
As Dan mentioned above your fsfsconv folder must be placed in the Aircraft directory. Also make sure when you change the aircraft cfg and panel cfg to name the files aircraft and panel, not aircraft.cfg or panel.cfg as is sometimes the case.
Also make sure that you have properly extracted and unzipped the gauge files.
Are you getting any gauges displayed or just missing some?

Btw. there is no Aircraft folder in FSX unless you create one, and also here remember to add it in the fsx.cfg .... Actually you can have as many folders you like, and calling them whatever you like, but unless you define them in the FSX.cfg the simulator will not be able to recognise them...

I just noticed that in your above replies you state that, and I quote " the panel_fx is now panel.cfg ". This I believe may be your problem. It should be "panel" only, not panel.cfg

Oh yes it should!
What shows, depends on your settings ... some file extensions are not shown per default, but you can enable them ..ALL files have both a filename AND an extension .... (we all come from DOS, even though more beautiful clothes has been made over the years... under the hood, it's still an operation system...)

YES Dan; but my point was that in Giovanni's statement above was, that he changed the "panel_fx file" and changed it to"panel.cfg".
When one opens the panel folder thre are two panel cfg files. One is for FSX users and say's "panel_fx". The other say's "panel" and is for FS9 users. So according to the procedure, for FSX users should delete the default "panel" file and rename the "panel_fx" file to "panel". Giovanni stated that he renamed this file to "panel.cfg" which I believe is incorrect. When I simulate using this, the aircraft does not even show in the aircraft menu.

Ah I see, so in reality it would have been given the name panel.cfg.cfg ...
But Giovanni told us he had an intensive knowledge of IT so hopefully he wouldn't make such a boo-boo :-)

Hello Giovanni:
We have'nt heard from you lately. Did you ever resolve your problem with the "invisable gauges" on the 727 panel?
