I recently downloaded the HJG DC 8-62F. This aircraft is equiped with a center tank and indeed, this is listed in the aircraft file. It does not however show up in the FS2004 fuel and payload menu.
How do I activate the center tank in FS2004?
Regards,
Nils

This is the fuel entry for the Aircraft file:
[fuel] LeftMain=0.000000,-10.330000,0.000000,4454.750000,0.000000 LeftAux=0.000000,-35.330000,0.000000,4579.750000,0.000000 RightMain=0.000000,10.330000,0.000000,4454.750000,0.000000 RightAux=0.000000,35.330000,0.000000,4579.750000,0.000000 Center=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,6209.750000,0.000000 fuel_type=2.000000 number_of_tank_selectors=1 electric_pump=1
As you can see the Center tank is listed. There must be another line of code missing somewhere.
Can anyone help me out please?

I wouldn't worry about this too much .... for the moment .... because George CARTY has provided for us new DC8 FDE, but, which I likely won't be able to get uploaded before Christmas. At this stage I can't say .... only because I don't yet know .... if this new FDE addresses what you say you are observing in respect of the DC8-62.

Change 'Center' to 'Center1' and the tank will be enabled. This is a common typo in many of the DC-8 FDE files.

As long as your max fuel adds up to 150,050 lbs, you're okay. That was the max fuel load for the -62s. I loved that airplane for all the fuel it carried. Never had to worry. I think I told the story on here once but we flew from PHNL non-stop to KORD [8 hours]; held for just over two hours; then after O'Hare closed, we went on to KMSP and still had a couple hours fuel left !!

Thank you Jim .... I wasn't even remotely aware of that.
As I said .... new DC8 FDE is planned for release .... as soon as I get time to finish testing it.
