I am trying to download the panel into the flightsim. I followed the directions and when I selected the aircraft and started the flight, there wasn't any panel at all. Do I have to add the name of the panel file into the aircraft.cfg? I am totally clueless to this since I am new to adding aircraft that come in multiple files. Any advice or a complete list of steps start to finish would be appreciated .

You've obviously "SCREWED-UP" in somewhere in respect of your panel alias data .... BUT .... that's easy to fix ! If you're trying to install the DC8-62/63 panel then you should, if you are following the accompanying installation instructions "TO THE LETTER", have the following DC8 panel folder installed inside the FSFSCONV folder of FS9 .... panel.DC8-62_63The default Panel folder inside your DC8 Aircraft Base Pack folder will contain a PANEL.CFG file .... and if you open this file it should read according to the following default information .... [fltsim] alias=B737_400\panel What you've got to do is change/edit this data to read precisely as follows .... [fltsim] alias=fsfsconv\panel.DC8-62_63I suggest you delete the data which currently appears on the CFG file contained within the default Panel folder of your Dc8 Aircraft Base Pack .... then .... copy & paste the above replacement data (precisely as it appears bold typed above) to this same CFG file .... and then "SAVE" this edit. Make no other changes/alterations. "IF" you do all of that correctly then there's no logical reason why your DC8-62/63 panel shouldn't appear with you add-on DC8 aircraft. Mark C AKL/NZ

Looks like you've forgotten to download and install the DC8 PANEL GAUGES/CORE FILES file.
Go back to the DOUGLAS PANELS downloads page .... and you'll find this essential data at the very top of that page.
All of the panel GAUGES files must be installed inside the FS9 GAUGES folder.
All of the panel SOUNDS files must be installed inside the FS9 SOUND folder .... not the Sound folder of your DC8 Aircraft Base Pack folder.
If you want custom DC8 soundpacks .... then download these from our DOUGLAS SOUNDS page. These soundpack then go inside your DC8 Aircraft Base Pack folder .... to replace the default B736-400 aliased Sound folder.
As you're obviously new to the DC8 .... and HJG aircraft generally .... may I then suggest you take time to familiarize yourself with the DC8 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES information too. This data appears on the ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT forum page .... and which features a lot of information (other than panel installation) regarding how to best use and enjoy these panels.

Thank you for responding. When I add the panel sound file to the sound folder in fligfht simulator not the aircraft sound folder, and when I add the panel gauges folder to the gauges folder is there anything else I have to change because the gauges still aren't appearing.

It's the "contents only" of the panel gauges folder that you must install inside the FS9 "GAUGES" folder .... 2 individual gauge files only .... named as follows ....
DC8_kln90b.gau dc8sw.gau
Like-wise .... it the "contents only" of the panel sounds folder that you must install inside the FS9 "SOUND" folder .... all 38 individual WAV samples only.
Remember .... it's the "CONTENTS ONLY" of these 2 folders, and not the actual containing folders themselves, that you must have installed inside the stated FS Folders .... OK.
Do all of this correctly .... and there's no way in hell that things can end up not displaying or running properly for you.
Hope that's a help !
