Hello,
How do you engage the AP in Boeing 707? When I try to flip the switch, nothing happens.
I have the 1959 panel, and I have the battery set at "ON" in the FE-panel.
Best Regards, Anders

I may be forgiven for sounding like a stuck record/damaged CD when I respond .... "this is a new one on me" .... BUT HONESTLY .... so far as I can recall, immediately, that "IS" indeed the case in respect of what you're reporting here ! The following is an extract from the after engine startup procedures portion of my B707 ENGINE STARTUP TUTORIAL .... featured within my B707 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES whicjh appear on the ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT forum page .... - Set "ESSENTIAL POWER" switch to "GEN 1" position - Set "EXTERNAL POWER" switch to "OFF" - Ensure the "BATTERY" switch remains "ON"Ensuring these 3 procedures are followed is essential in order for the AP to be able to work .... guaranteed by the "BATTERY" switch being set to the "ON". Any failure of this BATTERY switch would normally also prevent any ability to be able to set/change radio frequencies too. If you can set/change the radio frequencies in these then there's no logical reason why the AP shouldn't work too. These might seem like silly questions .... BUT .... my reasons for asking them are very well intentioned ..... 1. What WINDOWS OS are you using ? 2. Are you running these aircraft/panels in FS2004 or FSX ? 3. Are you running these panels and aircraft with our latest/currently downloadable B707 GAUGES/CORE FILES .... and AIRCRAFT BASE PACK data (AIRCRAFT.CFG and AIR.FILE) avilable from this/HJG website ? 4. Have you edited either your PANEL.CFG .... and/or .... AIRCRAFT.CFG in any way ? 5. Have you installed all 3 B707 gauges files inside the FS GAUGES folder .... regardless of the fact you appear too be running "a 1959" panel version ? 6. Are you running these panels with our/HJG aircraft B707/720/C135 models ? What I'm about to say is a very rare scenario .... BUT .... if one changes from interior panel view to external FS viewing mode repetitively within the same FS flying session, then it's "possible" that some things (like AP switches) may suddenly cease to function .... even if only temporarily. I've certainly seen/experienced this scenario myself with some FS panels .... BUT .... not all yet with any of our B707/720/C135 series products though. Also .... what happens if you load the default MSFS CENSSNA (or any other default MSFS aircraft) first .... then change to you B707/720/C135 aircraft of choice ? Mark C AKL/NZ

Hello,
I have have all three switches to the positions as you mentioned. And I can change the frequencies on both NAV1 and NAV2. The RMI and CDI changes as they should. To answer your questions; 1) I use Windows 7 Home Premium. 2) FS2004 3)I downloaded the files e couple of weeks ago. When were they updated? 4) I have not edited any other cfg than the aircraft.cfg, in order to add the [fltsim.xx] 5) No, only the 1959 panel. 6) I only run the panels with HJG Boeing 707.
I have not yet tried to start with the default Cessna, and then swtich to the 707. I will give that a try.
Best regards, Anders

Hello, It was my own stupid mistake! As I found out, you have to click on the area above the switch, not on the switch itself . And it also works, even if I start out with the Boeing, not by switching from default Cessna. Its a beautiful plane, now I can start to enjoy. Thanks for the input. BR, Anders
