Hi Chaps,
I can't find a solution to this anywhere on the forum. When I install the 720B the aircraft won't show up in the aircraft list in FS9 when I start the simulator.
I've installed all other HGJ aircraft without a problem and can't see any special instructions for this aircraft so can anyone please tell me what they think might be amiss?
Cheers, Dave

This is likely the result of a very simple ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG/ FLTSIM.XX error ....
Here's a typical HJG B720-B ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG with all the appropriate FLTSIM.XX data completed .... note in particular the bold typed entries because it's "there" .... somewhere .... that you've like got an error ....
[fltsim.0] // Change "xx" to next number in sequence starting from 0 title=HJG B720-020B Aerocondor Colombia HK-1973 1973 sim=B720B model=11 panel= sound= texture=aerocondor_colombia_1973_023b_hk-1973 kb_checklists= kb_reference= visual_damage=1 description=HJG Boeing 720-020B repaint by Camilo LUENGAS ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=720-020B ui_variation=Aerocondor Colombia HK-1973 (1973) atc_id=HK-1973 atc_airline=AEROCONDOR atc_flight_number=720 atc_heavy=0 atc_parking_codes=ALK atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
Again .... the bold typed entries above are the essential data governing the display/appearance of any FS aircraft within the MSFS Aircraft Select Menu.
In particular .... you need to ensure as follows ....
1. That you FLTSIM. XX data line is edited to read FLTSIM.0 .... and if you are adding a chain of textures these FLTSIM.XX lines must be labeled in numerical sequence as follows ....
[fltsim.0] [fltsim.1] [fltsim.2] etc
2. That the SIM= line in you AIRCRAFT.CFG reads as follows ....
sim=B720B
3. That the MODEL= line in your AIRCRAFT.CFG has been assigned.
4. That the TEXTURE= line in you AIRCRAFT.CFG reads exactly/precisely according to the AIRCRAFT TEXTURE FOLDER name. In my above case I'm using the AEROCONDOR COLOMBIA 1973 texture for HK-1973. My texture folder is named as follows ....
texture.aerocondor_colombia_1973_023b_hk-1973
.... therefore the TEXTURE= line of my ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG/FLTSIM.XX data reads as follows ....
texture=aerocondor_colombia_1973_023b_hk-1973
If all of this data is correctly assigned .... then there's no logical reason why your B720-B aircraft should fail to appear within the FS Aircraft Selection Menu.
FAILING THIS .... kindly copy and paste .... "HERE/BELOW" .... a complete copy of the FLTSIM.XX data for your particular B720-B so we can take a look at that and advise you accordingly.

Mark,
Thank you very much for the quick and detailed response to my question. I can now see where the problem was.
I wanted to use the Britannia texture and there are a few lines in the code supplied with that livery that were causing problems, ie:
Instead of: sim=B720B It read: sim=720-020B
And instead of: ui_type=720-020B It read: ui_type=720B
Many Thanks, Dave

Our pleasure Dave ! Glad to know you're sorted out ! And "YES" .... there could be 1 or 2 aircraft floating around with erroneous SIM= CFG data .... but .... we'll deal with those on a case by case basis as they cme up .... I think ! Mark C AKL/NA
