Great job on the L-1011 re-release.
Could not before, and cannot now with Ken's panel get the altitude hold to hold - a/c just wants to dive toward the ground. I also cannot get the VS light to light when I press the button. May be 'cause I am running in FSX and this is intended for FS9 but interested to hear any similar experiences.

There's no problem whatever with the L1011 panel AP .... in either FS9 or FSX .... that I'm aware of !
I've been testing these panels since August as we modified them and no such problems ever became apparent.
I haven't really got a clue as to what to advise regarding your apparent experience, but, suggest you look at each of the following points ....
1. Confirm that you are indeed using both the Panels, and the FDE inside the Aircraft base Packs, available from "THIS" website only.
2. Check that you've got all of your Panel Gauges/Core Files correctly installed. Essentially .... all of the contents of the Panel Gauges folder must be installed inside the FS "GAUGES" folder .... and .... all of the contents of the Panel Sounds folder must be installed inside the FS "SOUNDS" folder .... precisely as instructed.
3. And I think this may be the root cause of your problem .... check you joystick/controller calibrations .... and recalibrate "EVERYTHING" if need be.
Again .... there is no known condition imposed by any of the files provided by us that might cause the simulation to dive when the AP is activated .... or any of the panel lamps not to illuminate. These panels are both FS9 and FSX compatible. Pre-release testing in both FS versions has revealed no such problems at all.

The A/P has no problem in holding selected ALT, if you have done it correctly ,,, I'm in FSX .. so I can vouch for that

I think the issue you are describing is because default_vertical_speed is set to zero in the aircraft.cfg file. So when you set an altitude and engage the autopilot, it will not start climbing or descending until you set the vertical speed to a non-zero value.
Update default_vertical_speed to 2000 (or whatever default value you want) in aircraft.cfg and then it should behave as you are expecting.
(I use the FS2004 version by the way, I don't know if FSX behaves any differently).
Regards,
Jim

OK, all sorted thanks to your help. Purely "user error" + my failure to RTF**M, so my apologies. Changed the AP vertical speed to 1800 for the heck of it but pretty sure I just was not setting up the AP in the right order (I didn't at first see this new support page added at the bottom of the forum listing).
Have flown the Cantu Tristar before but it is now three times better - new FDE, the panel and systems, new engine and other sounds, the lighting and of course a plethora of top quality repaints. It is perfect - many thanks.
Also wish to add how impressive and professional these support pages and well written instructions are. Makes the whole experience that much better. Lastly, the traditional end of year new offerings here makes coming back to HJG around the holidays a special treat.
Happy holidays to the team.
