Tell ya what would look"GREAT there Herman .... A formation featuring COMET 1/A, COMET 2, COMET 3, COMET 3B, COMET 4, COMET 4B, and COMET 4C .... provided it didn't stop your PC and so long as everything remained sufficiently visible/close .... as to hilite some of the wide range of differences which applied to each of these aircraft types. Just a thought/suggestion ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Yes Mark, that would make a fantastic shot, but right now only a dream.
If I could get all those AI Comet's to take off at the same time and fly in the same direction, then I would be able to catch up with them at some piont.
However, unfotunately I don't think that will ever happen at least not with my limited PC knowledge. ;D ;D ;D so for the time being it will have to be one on one.

"YES" .... I know its an "IF ONLY" .... but .... it would be "NICE" if were possible to achieve easily. I suspect a shot like I suggest would only really be practical through PHOTOSHOP (or other) editing of a number of different screenshots of each the said aircraft .... wihich could then, maybe, be merged togerther to forme 1 complete new image showing "EVERYTHING" Mark C AKL/NZ

That might work. Found this image in the book " The Comet. The Worlds First Jetliner" Who said formation flying is only for the military? It would have been nice if it was in colour. Also from the same book I have always found this art work fascinating. Herman

As far as I know the sole Comet 3/3B was registrated G-ANLO. Maybe it was just a little typo.
Beside this, you've made very nice screenshots (must be difficult to create such shots).

You are correct Klaus. It should have been Comet 4B not 3B.
The formation flying is not really all that difficult, air speed and heading control being the critical areas.
You require lots of AI traffic then I go into a holding pattern at a busy airport at 3000ft. and then when I am flying in the direction that the airplanes are departing I watch for an airplane type that I want. Sometimes you need to do a few circuits before you get the right airplane. Then you just follow it until you reach its cruising altitude and then cruise your airplane at its max cruise speed until you catch up to the other airplane, which could take a bit of time. Basically, that's all there is to it.
