Hi guys,
I noticed some of the panels on the website are only for use in FS2002. Over the past 3 years I have been programming my Airbus 300B4 panel so I have a lot of experience in programming gauges (graphical design is not my strong point). One of the aircraft that I have always enjoyed flying is the CV580 but due to the lack of a good FS2004 panel I have stopped using it a long time ago.
Now, in stead of letting this panel die slowly, I would like to upgrade it and maybe enhance it a bit (from a programming point of view) so it becomes viable again.
Who do I need to contact for this, I will need sourcecode and everytyhing but I'm sure I can be of great help !
Kind regards, Björn

Hi, Are you aware of this Panel from Alan Jennings? It's part of the Sierra Pacific package available here: www.calclassic.com/580.htmHope this helps, Tom Gibson

Tom,
The aircraft looks really nice but is the panel any good ?
I haven't tested it yet but I strive for realism and I have the original CV580 AOM here which I got from DHL (EAT) from the time they were using the CV580 (only a few years ago). Afterwards these aircraft were sold to Swiftair in Spain.
Thanks for the link Tom, will check it !

Hi, Part of the team that created it was a 580 pilot at the time, and FSAviator did the flight dynamics (within 3% of reality), so I think it is. Take care,

Hello Bjorn!
Great to see you step forward on this. That Convair always struck me as the best turboprop in FS2002. The 2-D panel and flight dynamics are still the best.
Will you be working on a new visual model then? Really looking forward to it if so!
Where's your B4 panel available? A good one might come in handy.
All the best, Wang

Hi,
I didn't create the plane, Greg Pepper did. I only created the package and helped with bits and pieces. Unfortunately, Greg has retired from developing stuff for FS.
Take care,

Hi Wang, My A300B4 is available on Avsim and an update is available on my website ( users.telenet.be/bjurn) . I am currently reworking the artwork for the main panel but that's a lot of work... Tom, I did a somewhat longer testflight this night with the CV580 and I had a series of issues: - got an hydraulics message on the Master warning panel but couldn't find a hydraulics switch anywhere to resolve it - night panel couldn' be turned off once it was turned on - no QNH read-out on the altimeter gauge - some problems trimming the pitch, trim flipped from -1 to 3 etc... - when I click the night panel switch the brake pressure fluctuates heavily - on the RMI the NAV1 needle is connected to the NAV2 radio and vice versa - on the RMI there is no indication if needle 2 is showing ADF or VOR All things that can easily be fixed I'm sure. So if anyone still has access to the original files I will gladly help to update the gauges... Kind regards, Björn

Hi,
Yes, some people have had some of those symptoms. The RMI in the real plane allows you to use any needle for any radio, so there is no "right" way to assign needles to radios. Back in those days there was no "standard" way to do that either.
I haven't heard from Alan in quite a while, so I don't know if any of those files are available any longer.
Take care,
