Just out of curiosity guys and gals.........If a payware company were to do a pretty highly detailed DC-10 with VC what would Y'all want to see? What features would be important to you?

Pretty much irellevant question I think, as we are a freeware group, and thus don't have the highest interest in payware products

thus don't have the highest interest in payware products me too unless I get those for free for Chanukah gifts OR Captain Sim offers each plane for lousy 9 bucks:) I have payware Overland Airbuses for Chanukah gift and they run pretty well on my laptop. All Captain Sim planes that I got for 9 bucks each do not run well on my laptop except C-130 and 727 if without Captain Sim 727 panel while aliasing to other panel. Aharon

YEAH ;D .... but .... the point is .... Despite the fact we're a "FREEWARE" group who's member and community interests may primarily be focussed around "FREWARE" .... this particular forum page "IS" indeed a "PAYWARE" discussion oriented one (and which is it was implimented to this forum in the first place) .... so .... to that extent the question is therefore quite appropriate Whether or not it be irrelevent is an entirely different matter again In response to your question "DC10BOY" .... ;D CLS are "PAYWARE" .... and do a reasonably good DC10 .... with reasonably good 2D and VC panels and a reasonably good custom GE CF6 soundpack .... all of which are both FS9 and FSX compatible. This product is apparently quite highly regarded by most users of it. Any successor to this product would likely need to be of "EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH QUALITY" to gain appeal .... and that there concludes my "FREE" oppinion of this "PAYWARE" option Mark C AKL/NZ

Nor did I ;D .... by saying 'APPROPRIATE" .... I was simply meaning the question posed by "DC10BOY" was in fact quite a reasonable "ASK" Mark C aKL/NZ

If a car dealer was to make a new car, what colour would you all like it to have ..... (!)
I fail to see the relevance ... sorry.

The real question is...does it have to be payware to be high quality? One day I hope to send a message out with our new DC8.
I was once with CLS I can tell they make good add-ons. Albert and his crew love what they do, the money is just a bonus. It may get crazy sometimes but they still put out a good product.

If a car dealer was to make a new car, what colour would you all like it to have ..... (!) I fail to see the relevance ... sorry. I sort of feel the same way. Add ons dont have to be payware to be good...as a matter of fact, payware most of it does more damage to your sim than you can imagine...with all the hocus pocus payware developers implement...a simple stand alone product can increase by several megabytes in size after all the anti-piracy security measures put in which, in turn ends up taking even more memory. Freeware doesnt have any of this drama, you just put it in your sim and enjoy...no activaction if this or that or oh boy, you get the idea?

I´m actually quite "GLAD" this one came up again ! ;D The original question (I think) is actually "MUCH DEEPER" (although I´m not sure the author of this thread wittingly intended it to be interpreted that way) .... and .... only those whom have studied and really know/understand the DC10 can probably appreciate/see the sensibility of the original question .... which is why I responded to it in the manner in which I did ANYWAY.... There are a huge amount of "differences" associated with DC10´s .... just like is the case among most other long-term production aircraft types too. I could actually spend a day .... or more .... discussing "THESE" differences, but, simply don´t have time .... HOWEVER .... "IF" time wasn´t my demon .... then what I´d discuss would, essentially, range from aircraft design features .... model details, to flightdecks .... panels and their various different types of instrumentation/gauges, to engines .... soundpacks for them in particular. And .... not forgetting the dynamics/autonomy which actually separates the capabilities of 1 DC10 version/series from another .... all of which could, quite easily, be represented, in FS, to result in a product of incredible authenticity/quality as well as one that´s "probably" no more excesively hogging of PC resources than the current CLS product , or any simulation we currently host "HERE" at HJG, may already be.I have the CLS product. It isn´t too bad at all .... and I regard it as "possibly" the "BEST" DC10 simulation that´s "currently available" for FS .... BUT .... it could have been .... and still could be .... developed into something much more superior than it currently is .... and along the "basic lines" of what I´ve "hinted/suggested" above. Subject to all of the necessary resources actually being available (much of which I have at my disposal) .... "IF" I were ever charged with "guiding" the redevelopment of that particular (CLS) DC10 simulation .... then .... I know precisely how I (and possibly a lot of the FS community too) would like to see it redeveloped .... and maybe even extended to include the more recent MD10 upgrading of some DC10´s too. There´s a lot of prospect/possibilities "HERE" .... and .... subject to ones knowledge and understanding of these aircraft, in the first instance, and other factors too, the original question (as posted "HERE") is , again, actually a lot more sensible than many (without that knowledge) might first apprerciate .... BUT THEN AGAIN .... I do, generally, look at things from quite a different perspective than most others might. Mark C BOG/CO

Well in my opinion, there are some individuals here (not mentioning any names) whom I think don't really understand the original question and I quote...... "what would you all want to see? What features would be important to you? I must agree with Mark, that this question is indeed "relevant", in as much that this falls under the the HJG category in our forum of "Payware" and discussions dealing with this topic. I think that Mark does deal with the original question somewhat, but I think that the original post is asking for feedback on what the readers would want to see in the development of such a DC-10 project. Perhaps dc10boy does not know that there already is a DC-10 payware product available??? Herman

I perfectly understand the question. But first of all... 1. This category, is about recommending or warning about any payware, that you may want to share with other forum members, not a request category. 2. Asking about who would like to see what in some not-named payware company is highly irrelevant, especially in a forum that does in free-ware. 3. What is the purpose of asking for feedback on what readers would like or not like in a non existing payware company ....? 4. If the original question was from a developer that wanted to make a payware aircraft, and asked for feedback on such, I could begin to see some relevance, but then again, I think it is a wrong forum asking such questions... 5. If Rafael was developing a DC10 for instance, and wanted to harvest some opinions on what to model and what not, and he was doing a freeware.... now THAT would be highly relevant.... but not the original question from DC10boy, which in my opinion is as just a question for the sake of the question, and not of any real value....that is irrelevant.
