I've been reading about it on some other forums, and while it looks nice in some areas, there are still a lot of problems, mainly that the base thing still doesn't do half of what FSX does as part of its native design, requiring you to program from scratch simple things like the engine starter so that it's not just an on/off switch. I've also heard from several that all the "eye candy" has made it nearly unflyable for framerates on their computers that run FSX quite acceptably.
Between that and the complete hubris of Austin, I'm still going to give it a pass because the sim itself and its developer have a lot of growing up to do. Austin makes Tom Allensworth look like a wise man by comparison.

I would halt your horses if I where you...I tried out the demo a few days ago...on my rigged out machine, X-plane 10 took a wopping 4 minutes to load! And it still does that check the DVD to see if its in the drive thing, when ever it does this, it causes the simulation to jerk or pause as the system accesses the DVD, it does this on ocassion to see if you have a legit copy or not, very, very bad.
