WELL .... HJG will always "TRY" to help anyone .... (a) so long as it is within its power to do so .... and (b) subject to support team member availability also
;D
ANYWAY ....
I have compiled a document which serves as a basic online/forum based manual to aid introducing people to the HJG DC8's.
"IF" one is new to these simulations .... then it might aid one to familiarize oneself with this information which is posted mostly on the
"ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page ....
1.
DC8 PANELS INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTEStonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=1566Correct use of the AP use (among other details too) is clearly explained within the above document.
Also refer to the following ....
2.
HJG DC8 - WHAT PANEL WHICH PLANEtonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=1563The above information is important .... because the correct DC8 panels must be used with the correct DC8 aircraft base packs in order to realize the right/intended/best performances for each aircraft type/version and since each aircraft type is "different".
3.
HJG DC8 - WHAT SOUND WHICH PLANE
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=1564The above information may be a little less critical .... BUT .... in order to realize the best possible DC8 experience then the correct sounds should always be used with each of these aircraft types.
4.
INS TUTORIALtonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=3449Dan K.HANSEN compiled the above INS tutorial for HJG .... which serves to "introduce people" (get them started at least) to INS NAV .... in respect of those versions of each of our aircraft panels which are INS equipped. If yusing the HJG supplied INS .... then the other option isn't necessary.
PLEASE NOTE .... the INS provided by HJG (in some DC8-50, 61, 62/63, 71, and 72/73 panels, but, not any of the earlier DC8 aircraft types .... "is not" the DELCO CAROUSEL product. In fact it is George CARTY's own INS product .... which may work similarly. In any case .... HJG does not host, nor provide support for, the DELCO CAROUSEL INS.
There is also a KLN90 GPS system built into each of the HJG DC8 panels (with the exception of the 1959 panel version for DC8 SHIP ONE), but, there has never been any HJG document (of any worth) for this .... and in the 10 years during which I have been flying these panels, I, myself, never, ever, used it .... preferring instead to use plain, good old fashioned, VOR to VOR navigation as well as dead-reckoning. Certainly ..... one's not missing anything major by not using,or bein able to use, the KLN90 GPS.
Keyboard commands
SHIFT+E+2 will open the forward fuselage port side main deck cargo door on all DC8-F SERIES models. These commands can, sometimes, be a little temperamental though
.... but .... as Dee states above
.... the best way to apply these is to first select "SHIFT+E" .... followed by the "2" suffix part of these commands after a momentary pause, or, it might actually work better per "SHIFT" first .... then "E+2" after a momentary pause.
Each of these details "ARE" .... as of this moment .... a little scattered throughout the HJG forum pages aand since aircraft type specific support pages were first established here a few years ago, but, these documents will be re-written, by me, and further expanded, as well as being condensed into "a single document" .... to eventually be re-posted on the "DOUGLAS AIRCRAFT SUPPORT" forum page ....
when I have more time available with which to do so ;D. In the meantime refer to, and study, each one of the above recommended links .... and any further questions can be adddressed later and accordingly
All of this is a little more than specifically asked/requested .... I realize .... BUT .... taking the longer scenic route is often more helpful to anyone else needing similar assistance
