Hey, guys...
I'm having to reinstall my sim, which includes the DC9. The only problem is I'm having issues where I'm getting he error that d9sh.gau will not load.
I looked in the forum, but didn't find a reference for the issue.
Any thoughts?

There are "no known issues in regard to running these DC9 simulations (or any other HJG simulations) in FS2004 and within a WINDOWS 7 environment .... SO .... that can be ruled out for starters. I suspect you are getting the error message you are seeing through one or other of the two panel related modules possibly being installed inside a wrong destination FS folder. I want you to review the way you have installed everything.... to ensure it has all been done "strictly in accordance with the recommended installation procedures". I am going to quote the full installation procedures for you (below), but, I think it is in regard to installation of the PANEL GAUGES CORE FILES that you may need to pay particular attention toward .... In the interest of being "THOROUGH" .... check, cross-check, and recheck "EVERYTHING". Departure from the above-recommended installation procedures might result in either a panel "NO SHOW", missing panel components, systems that do not work properly, or other issues. Mark C AKL/NZ

Marks replies usually get people to find their errors.... One additional thing, if I may add, could be for you to localize said gauge: d9sh.gau .... And you may very well, in addition to follow Marks advice, be able to solve your problem quite easy...
Btw. if your original DC9 install is of some age, you may want to re-visit the download page to make sure you hace all the newest files...

Hey guys...
I did a clean reinstall, and the I still gt the same result. I even isolated (and removed) the file, and I'm still not getting the desired result.
Dan: this is with the newest zip file off the website. I'm wondering if it might be a Win 7 issue...

There's nothing wrong with the ZIP file .... or the GAUGE in question either.
And all of the HJG DC9 PANELS .... and their supporting GAUGES/CORE FILES are compatible with WINDOWS 7 .... and there's been no notified or unotified changes to any of these files since October 2010.

Just as an addenda to my last reply ....The only past forum queries that remotely resemble what, you say, you are experiencing (with that particular gauge) are the folowing .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=5408.... in which (the above) came down to an inocent installation error on the part of the installer. And then there's also "THIS ONE" too .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=4406.... which seemed to relate to an OS/WINDOWS 7 based USER ACCOUNT setting and/or the possibility of that particular DC9 panel GAUGE file maybe defaulting to becoming a "READ ONLY" file. Check out the relevance of the USER ACCOUNT settings thing first in your case .... then try "right clicking" on that particular gauge file, then selecting "PROPERTIES", and if it should appear with its "READ ONLY attribute checked then "UNCHECK" it immediately. Again .... there's nothing at all wrong with any of the DC9 panel/gauges files as supplied, but. OS/WINDOWS based settings can, sometimes, influence things .... it seems. Mark C AKL/NZ

I feel like such an a$$ for missing such a simple step. And you would think that as long as I've been doing this, I would already know to backtrack my installs and make sure I put everything where it belongs. The FSSound module has been around for as long as I can remember (at least since FS98, I think), and it still amazes me that such an old piece of software is still required to make the planes in the sim fly right.
