Until now I´ve never had trouble installing HJG aircraft, but the 63 is doing a number on me, I download the base pack, unzip to a temp. file called DC8-63, so far so good, install livery as usual in this file, along with sound etch. Copy and paste The entire folder into my AC folder (FS9) as usual, but the 63 does NOT show in my inventory. It worked great with the 20, 30, 50 and 62 - What gives ?

"IF" your installation process worked fine for the DC8-20, -30, -50, and -62 .... and "IF" you´ve repeated the very same fundamentals for your attempted DC8-63 installation also then you shouldn´t be experiencing any such problems at all.
The installation procedure for all of these aircraft (in fact HJG aircraft generally) is similar.
9 times out of 10 times when these aircraft don´t display within the MSFS Aircraft Selection Menu it´s due to even a very minor CFG editing error .... and which is where I encourage you to focus your attention based in the following suggestions .... and I´m also assuming you´re trying to install these aircraft into FS2004 too.
1. Check that youi haven´t inadvetently got your valid DC8-63 (or DC8-63F) Aircraft Base Pack folder still contained inside another containing folder from the original ZIP file .... and which would, then, effectively prevent FS from being able to recognize and display this particular add-on aircraft subject.
2. Check that you´ve edited your very first [fltsim.x] entry to read as follows ....
[fltsim.0]
.... by simply canceling/replacing the "X" suffix with a "0" .... and .... if you´re adding a chain of textures to the same AIRCRAFT.CFG then each the subsequent ADD TO AIRCRAFT/texture CFG addition must appear in strict numerical sequence as follows ....
[fltsim.1]
[fltsim.2]
[fltsim.3]
3. Check that you´re ADD TO AIRCRAFT/texture CFG "SIM=" data line reads strictly in accordance with the AIR.FILE name for the DC8 version you´re trying to install.
For the DC8-63 this should read as follows ....
sim=DC-8-63_2k4
For the DC8-63CF/F this should read as follows ....
sim=DC-8-63F_2k4
4. Check that you´re ADD TO AIRCRAFT/texture CFG "TEXTURE=" data line reads strictly in accordance with the TEXTURE file name for the DC8 you´re trying to install.
PLEASE NOTE: DC8-63 textures must only be installed with the "DC8-63 Aircraft Base Pack" .... and .... DC8-63CF/F textures must only be installed with the "DC8-63F Aircraft Base Pack". .... "DO NOT" take short cuts or otherwise mix-up the textures and/or ADD TO AIRCRAFT/texture CFG data for these 2 aircraft versions.
4. Check that your PANEL.CFG and SOUND.CFG files (inside each DC8-63 Aircraft Base Pack) are correctly aliased .... strictly in accordance with each of the separate add-on panel and sound files "should you also be trying to install the HJG supplied/recommended options" for these aircraft.
"IF" all of this is done correctly .... then there´s no logical reason why these aircraft shouldn´t appear within the MSFS Aircraft Selection Menu .... and subsequently in FS too once selected.
"ABOVE ADVICE FAILING" .... then please copy & paste just the ADD TO AIRCRAFT/texture/[fltsim.X] portion "ONLY" of your DC8-63 add-on aircraft .... and I´ll look at it when I can.[/b]

"NO" .... WORLDWAYS CANADA DC8-63 C-FCPP .... during it´s entire service to that airline (from 1968 until 1991) was "a standard DC8-63 and not a CF or F version".
It was however converted to an -63F during 1991 when it was sold and entered service with FLAGSHIP EXPRESS (N783AL) as a pure freighter.
Therefore ..... this WORLDWAYS CANADA texture subject "IS" correctly placed on the standard (PAX version) HJG DC8-63 downloads page
On the basis of your HU I´ve just checked this particular texture file though .... and in particular its supporting ADD TO AIRCRAFT/TEXTURE CFG data .... and you´re "quite correct" that this data "does" contain an error and which should be corrected as bold typed below ....
[fltsim.x] title=DC-8-63 Worldways 1985 sim=DC-8-63_2k4 model= panel= sound= texture=DC-8-63_Worldways_1985_C-FCPP checklists=DC8_Checklist atc_id=C-FCPP atc_airline=WORLD atc_flight_number=100 ui_manufacturer=Douglas ui_type=DC-8 Super 63 ui_variation=Worldways 1985 description=McDonnell Douglas DC-8 Super 63, version 4 master file, 1\/27\n18 standard 88x125 cargo containers plus crew of 3 typical.\nHistoric Jetliners Group\n
In other words .... just change the SIM= data line .... and then use this particular texture with the standard (PAX version) DC8-63 Aircraft Bsse Pack file (not the -63F .... or you´ll end up with a model with only half of it´s fuselage textures displaying) .... and the currently downloadable texture will stay, right where it´s presently (and correctly) placed .... albeit that its ADD TO AIRCRAFT/TEXTURE CFG data will still need being "corrected" as advised above in order to avoid any similar issues in the future.
