Ya, I have a Friction Question My Friction Question is this ! Has anybody tried this New Program out, and does it work, any noticeable Improvement sounds interesting tho ! just wondering how much if any of an Improvement there really is ? or if its just another one of those programs that a simmer will have, tinker with it once or twice and not really notice any improvement and eventually end up forgetting about , even forgetting its even installed, bout' 6 months to a year down the road. See Info on " Runway friction in FSX " Runway Friction Program FSX

Don't pay $13 for an addon when you can just install the Dynamic Friction available for free with FSUIPC. If you want to pay for something, get a more comprehensive package with AccuFeel that includes changes to not just ground handling, but how the airplane handles in the air and on water.

The only proble I visualise there is ....
"IF" he desires to access that fSUIPC supplied "DYNAMIC FRICTION" option .... then .... he'll most likely need to pay for/buy a fully licensed version of FSUIPC (which will cost "much more" than $13 he;s contemplating) since, so far as I'm aware, that particulat option, like many other FSUIPC provided options/offsets, probasbly won't be available/accessible using any freeware licensed FSUIPC version.
Just what sort of impact/influence any "FRICTION" adjustment might impose upon FDE's (simulated aircraft performances) also (since it might not all be positive) .... I couldn't hazard a guess, but, that, maybe, does also need being borne in mind too.

Mark, As I said in my post, Dynamic Friction is free and does not require the paid version of FSUIPC (see here for directions on how to install on the un-registered version). The changes it makes are applied to the friction part of the simulation engine, not to any particular airplane and there are no "adjustments" that need to be made. You simply install it within the modules folder and it does its thing the next time you start FSX. Same with AccuFeel, if you install it, it does have sliders you can adjust to make each airplane "feel" better, but it doesn't change the FDE itself and you can just leave it alone and allow it to make its adjustments automatically. The whole point of the FSUIPC Dynamic Friction and Accufeel is to improve performance and ground handling by removing the unrealistically "sticky" tarmac in FSX and fixing the unrealistically "slippery" wet surfaces. I've not had any "negative" effects to any of my FSX aircraft using either addon, and that is why I posted the alternatives.

"NO PROBLEM" Chris .... I wasn't at all dubious in regard to the suggested FSUIPC alternative, but rather, I simply "wasn't aware" that what's been suggested was actually available per "a freeware FSUIPC licence" Mark C AKL/NZ

Yep, It's just not "automatically" available. However, I paid for FSUIPC many, many moons ago and have never had to pay for an upgrade through 2 subsequent FS versions, so I've seen that $30 as probably one of the best FS investments I've ever made, especially for allowing me to customize my controls by airplane and have it saved.
