Within this latest update HJG have pleasure releasing the following new and and upgraded products for your claassic jetliner enjoyment ....

Thanks to the efforts of HJG 3D modeller (and AI expert) Paul HAAK .... HJG is proud to add both MD82-SF and MD83-SF freighters to its existing flightline of MD80 simulations. Both of these new models feature animated forward fuselage maindeck cargo doors (these work using the "WINGFOLD" keyboard command which must be "manually assigned" within FS "OPTIONS/ASSIGNMENTS") .... and FDE suites that have been appropriately customised with freight specific loadings. HJG also acknowledges the assistance of Nicholas BOTAMER with this particular project .... in allowing Paul access to his original MD80 3D model source code .... which has ensured that each of these new models has been produced in accordance to the same standard/quality as the previously released HJG members of the MD80/80 family of jetliners."SECTION 4" of the "MD80/90 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" (HJG's forum based online manual for the MD80's/90's simulations) has also been updated with "basic flying guides" for each of these new MD80 freighter simulations.

Thanks to the efforts of HJG panel/gauge and FDE expert George CARTY .... HJG is also proud to offer upgraded L1011 Aircraft Base Packs, Panels, and Gauges/Core Files packages. Each of these panels now features a reworked and much more accurate multi-mode AP system .... with an auto-land function which can fly ILS/GS coupled auto-approaches all the way down to the RWY threshold, then flare, and land the simulation for a fully automatic "HANDS-OFF" landing .... among other functional and cosmetic improvements. PLEASE NOTE .... all original HJG L1011 TRISTAR Aircraft Base Packs, Panels, and Gauges/Core Files packages "MUST BE REPLACED". "DO NOT" try to use these latest files with any of the original HJG L1011 Aircraft Base Packs, Panels, and Gauges/Core Files packages .... or .... problems "WILL" result". PLEASE NOTE ALSO .... no changes, whatsoever, have been incorporated into any of the original L1011 TRISTAR 3D models, Textures, or AEROMUSICA RR RB211 Soundpacks .... these particular files do not need to be replaced. A new, and much more thorough, Manual ("L1011 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" .... in 5 separate sections .... which also includes revised "basic flying Guides" for each L1011 simulation) has also been posted on the L1011 SUPPORT forum page ....

OH .... it's just one of those things that "has to be done" .... or rather .... is "best done" thoroughly .... IMHO

It "IS" rather time consuming to prepare .... BUT .... going to these lengths "does", ultimately, save me (and others) more time in the long run (I feel) .... because the more information that's provided, then, the better .... and so long as people take the necessary time to "read",and "understand", the information that's provided, then, the better informed they all become .... and which, hopefully, reduces potential for any problems I (one) must assume

Thanks for all the hard work. I'm back into FS9 and FSX after a year away. Two new computers, a 17" gaming laptop and a new desktop. Both will handle FSX, especially the desktop with an overclocked i7 4770X and a GTX 780ti video card. I was able to transfer all of my old FS9 files from my old rig, so it's with pleasure I'm catching up on the current and past updates.

First, I just have to settle down on a freaking 777 simulation once and for all, there's no good enough FS9 simulation of that bird....

Sorry for the confusion. One laptop and one desktop. The lappy is for use on the balcony since we have a nice beach view (100 yards away). The desktop is for eventual FSX use if I ever learn it.

Great new birds (especially the new Tristar(s)). I can't wait to fly the new Trijet (at the moment I don't have time to do flights).

I have just one question: It's about the Caravelle 1. Do you guys have problems to unzip the new Caravelle 1-textures (F-WHRA)? I can download it (as every other of the new files) but when I want to unzip it (via 7-Zip), it says it can't be unzipped/is corrupted. Do you guys have an idea how to solve this? I would like to fly the Caravelle 1 with this livery.

Probably best to have posted your CARAVELLE query on the CARAVELLE SUPPORT forum Klaus .... but .... not to worry .... since it "IS" one of the texture files included within this particular website update

I, personally, packaged that particular file myself.

There's no problem with it .... so far as I'm aware.

7 times out of 10 times a file corruption is usually the result of some form of network related issue affecting ones internet connection .... AND .... 9 time out of 10 times in such circumstances it's the result of an "incomplete download" (typically a CHECk SUM error) that's usually the result of the intended download "disconnecting" before its actually completed downloading in full.

"THIS" .... can, sometimes, happen

That particular 1959 AIR FRANCE CARAVELLE 1 texture (F-WHRA) is a file size of some 9.83 MB.

Check the file size of the texture ZIP you've actually downloaded .... and .... if it doesn't approximate/agree with the file size I've indicated .... THEN .... I'm pretty sure that what I'm commenting regarding (an incomplete download) will, probably, be the cause your distress.

Just persevere with the download for the time being.

Such a network related failure/imcomplete downloasd has been known to occur up to 2 or 3 time or more consecutively.

"IF" anyone else reports a similar issue with this particular texture file .... then .... we'll be obliged to have a closer look it .... BUT AGAIN .... so far as I'm aware .... there isn't, or shouldn't be, at least, any particular problems, whatsoever, with that particular texture file.

Hi Mark,

I've just downloaded F-WHRA again and the download was successful (filesize: 9.83 MB as you said). But the trouble begins when I want to unzip it. My zipping/unzippping programme (7-Zip) doesn't want to unzip/open the downloaded zip-file. I hope you or somebody else has a clue why this happens (since all the years I'm using/downloading HJG-birds, I NEVER had such a problem).

When my system has done similar things to me, I have been able to get the file to open by 'right-click' / 'open in new window' ...

For whatever reason, from time to time the regular 'double-click' on the zipped file in my 'downloads' folder won't start the unzip process. The 'right-click' trick has always worked for me, except for the times I encountered a check-sum error.

Have you tried this? I hope it helps.
