DC8 PANELS, GAUGES/CORE FILES, & AIRCRAFT BASE PACK UPDATES AVALABLE !
We have just release our new DC8 panels, gauges/core files, and aircraft base packs for you.
This is a complete panels, panel gauges/core files, and aircraft base pack update.
"YES" .... you will need to replace all previous versions of these files if you want to enjoy the new features offered.
Here's some of the new features you will find included ....
- T/O is now possible with only as little as 1 increment of flaps being set .... "without the bloody warning horn screaming at you in the process". This now applies for all DC8 series aircraft panels.
- A working Weather Radar set has been incorporated into all DC8 panels .... this unit is the same as that applied to our B707/720 panels and functions in the same manner. You will require FSUIPC to make it work .... any version later than V3.50 .... if you have our B707/720 panel Weather Radar sets working then you'll be fine. An additional sub panel selector switch from which this Weather Radar panel can be commanded into view has been added to the row of sub panel selector switches at the bottom of each DC8 main panel.
- All DC8 panel radio stacks have been slightly modified. The Transponder window and code selection buttons are both now located on the Weather Radar Panel.
- On the basis of advice sought from real-world DC8 pilots changes have been made to all panel GPWS call-outs and other warnings/advisories. All DC-8 SHIP ONE 1958 through DC8-63 panels no longer have GPWS altitude call-outs. Only the DC8-70 panels now feature this. All DC8 SHIP ONE 1958 through DC8-40 panels no longer feature GLIDESLOPE, SINK RATE, TERRAIN, PULL-UP, TOO LOW FLAP, and TOO LOW GEAR warnings etc. These now apply only to the DC8-50 through DC-8-70 panels.
- The PULL-UP and TERRAIN warnings on all previous DC8 panel versions never worked properly but has now been repaired.
- Adjustments have been made to all DC8 aircraft base packs to correct fuel quantities.
- Alternative FSX AIRCRAFT.CFG files have been added to each new aircraft base back. PLEASE NOTE: Our DC8-70 Aircraft Base Packs will not feature FSX AIRCRAFT.CFG files. They do not require FSX specific data which only deals with smoke effects anyway .... smoke affects of course do not apply to these aircraft.
- All panel version are now equipped with twin ADF radios.
I think everyone will find the work George CARTY has recently applied to this DC8 panels, panel gauges/core files, and aircraft base packs update will be and extremly rewarding experience .... especially to those (like me) whom prefer as much fidelity with the realworld as is practical whilst bearing in mind the constant limitations imposed by FS itself
THESE NEW FILES ARE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD NOW
All new Panel, Gauges, and Aircraft Base Pack data have been tested with FS2004 prior to release.
FSX compatibility is assumed.
All other aircraft/panel handling notes have been updated.
