Hi All,I keep my AI acft. in a folder under sim objects titled AI(this folder is added in FSX.cfg too).I added the AIsound folder to each of my AI DC-10s (AI Malcontent). However, when I hear the 10s taxiing and departing they still use the default AI sounds.Did I miss a step somewhere? Stan

Hi dc10boy, Make sure that you have placed the unzipped DC-10 soundai folder in your main ai DC10 folder for this to work properly.
I haven't used this method or tested it with ai sounds either. I am unsure if this could the problem you are experiencing as a result.

I tried putting the 10s back into the sim objects airplanes folder.same result, default AI sounds.I wonder if the soundai feature only works with FSX airplanes not FS9 stuff like AIA and AIM.

I'm not entirely sure myself .... and Benoit may need to correct me here, but, my understanding is the 3 recently released AI version DC10 soundpacks are intended for FSX use only.
I'm sure/certain Bennoit will help you "NAIL THIS".

Best be guided by Benoit's advice in regard to this .... since he not only compiled the AI audio, but, also compiled the FSX specific (and FS2004 versions also) DC10 soundpacks. I'm sure he'll get back to you as soon as he's able .... when his feel touch down on tierra firma BTW Stan .... that special/experimental CO DC10-10 livery is now available for you .... on the DC10-10 downloads page and as follows .... CONTINENTAL AIRLINES DC10-10 N68044 (1984) .... experimental red/white tail logo and with modified engine tail pipes ! In fact all of the major CO and CO-MIKE DC10-10. -10CF, and -30 subjects are now opublily available .... save for another variation of PK-GIB in a "spli-identity" and which Tony may (no promises) be looking at ;0 Mark C AKL/NZ

AHA! got it!The SOUND_LOD value, in my FSX.cfg, was set, for some odd reason, to 1.
It has to be set at 0.
Now it's SOUND_LOD=0 and all of my AI traffic sounds are working. 044 sure looks beautiful there! Stan

YEP .... when you're talking about sound/audio .... Benoit is "A MASTER" Both the FS2004, and FSX-specific, components/offerings among the several DC-10 engine/aircraft type soundpacks offered by HJG .... took some 3 years to compile/perfect. Having been compiled fromn "actual recordings" each are tonally authentic .... since the GE CF6-6 (on the DC-10-10's), along with the GE CF6-50 (on the DC-10-15's and -30's .... no mistaking the unique tone of this one since it's that/so different from any of the others), and the P&W JT9D (on the DC-1040's) .... each sound "quite different" from the other. All faithfully reproduced .... by Benoit .... as finely as FS will permit Mark C AKL/NZ

Yes terra firma indeed... Stan, glad that you got it sorted. Yes, sound upgrades for our HJG line-up are planned and well underway for FS2004 and FSX, and all in good time. Benoit
