- PLEASE NOTE: All earlier version HJG supplied B727-200 (only) aircraft base packs (3D models and FDE files) must be replaced with these new V2.0 files.

- PLEASE NOTE ALSO: All original B727-200 textures .... and their supporting FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data .... can be added to the new AIRCRAFT.CFG files, but, the MODEL= data line inside each FLTSIM.XX entry must also now be edited to with name of any model file contained within each aircraft base pack file. Failure to to this will result in aircraft subjects not being recognised and displayed within the MSFS Aircraft Selection Menu.

- PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONALLY: These new V2.0 B727-200 aircraft base pack files must be used with the correct corrsponding B727-200 panel versions. - PLEASE NOTE: It is essential to use the correct B727 panel version with its corresponding B727 aircraft base pack version. Do not use earlier versions of these B727 panels and Gauges/Core Files with the new HJG V2.0 aircraft base packs. All original HJG B727 panels must be replaced with these new V2.0 files. Failure to do this will result in performance anomalies with some these simulations.

- PLEASE NOTE ALSO: The "B727 PANEL GAUGES/CORE FILES" package is required for all B727 panels. Earlier versions of these files must also be replaced/overwritten with these new V2.1 files. Failure to do this will result in panel/simulation performance anomalies.

Welcome folks .... to HJG´s 3rd website update for the 2015 year.

"THANKS" to the efforts of Paul HAAK, George CARTY, and Mike MONCE .... we´ve completed, and have pleasure offering, the "first stage" (of a planned 3-stage re-release) of our updated B727 project.

Folk whom have frequented HJG forum pages over the past "more than 1 year" will recall this revision .... a project we commenced during late 2013 .... was first previewed here during October of 2014.

This particular project "IS NOT IN ANY WAY" HJG´s response to a similar freeware project released recently .... and we want to be "quite clear" about that. HJG does its own thing, in its own time. as it´s always done over the past 15 years. We´re not interested in competition and "DO NOT" seek to compete with anyone else. This´s "A HOBBY" (only) .... not a race, or competition, and nor is it challenge either. This particular project .... for better, or otherwise, and like all other HJG projects .... is simply for the enjoyment of everyone who cares to partake of it

MOVING ALONG ....

This first stage of our B727 revision focuses on our entire B727-200 SERIES (only) aircraft base pack inventory .... as well as our complete inventory of B727-100/200 SERIES panels and their supporting panel gauges/core files.

With the exception of revised B727-100 panel offerings .... this expansion "does not" implicate HJG´s B727-100 aircraft inventory. There are no changes to any of our established B727-100 SERIES aircraft base pack files or 3D models .... that´ll happen later.

6 individual aircraft sub groups are represented within HJG´s B727-200 SERIES inventory. "ALL" of our original V1.0 aircraft base pack files representing these particular aircraft have been replaced with 38 new "V2.0" file options .... resulting in far more comprehensive representation of the B727-200 than previously and possibly the most thorough virtual flightline of these aircraft currently available for FS.

Each of these V2.0 aircraft base packs files are now aircraft type/engine type (thrust rating), and weight specific .... as is HJG´s DC-9 flightline.

Separate aircraft base packs are necessary in order in order to represent certain features among these/the most common versions of these aircraft .... which are composed of differing tail/wingtip lighting and antenae configurations in addition to varying weight and powerplant specifications.

Our recent B727-200 SERIES renovations aren´t restricted to this expanded range of 3D models though .... because the FDE files contained within each V2.0 aircraft base pack file have also been edited to try´n better replicate performances of some aircraft versions .... "as best FS limitations (and our own abilities) will allow". Expect improvements .... among a variety of performances variations .... throughout each of the B727-200 SERIES aircraft now represented by HJG.

To assist folk flying these simulations .... we´ve also re-compiled the "Basic Flying Guide" recomendations for our entire B727-200 SERIES. This information is availble "HERE" ....

Within this release a total of 11 separate B727 panel files are also now offered by HJG .... along with their new supporting V2.1 gauges/core files revision.

6 of these panels represent modest upgrades (in respect of their internal functions only) of their original version files .... but .... we´ve also added another 5 new panel compilations in order to complete our B727 panel inventory .... some of which are configured to replicate specific technical features associated with the newer B727-200 SERIES aircraft versions now represented by HJG.

NOW THEN FOLK .... LISTEN UP PLEASE .... because everyone "needs" to pay close attention to the following details ....

Despite the advances we´re now offering there´s a limit to what we/HJG can easily achieve .... SO .... we do need to impose (just a wee bit) upon everyone

ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN ....

With such a major and comprehensive expansion .... as this one represents .... some folk are (undoubtedly) at risk of becoming confused as to what goes with what.

The following details are intended to "TRY" and clarify the essential details .... "as simply as is practical" .... in order to reduce potential for confusion.

Because the B727-200 SERIES was "an established project" at HJG" (which, prior to 2013, we didn´t expect to be able to renovate) .... and because we represent such an extensive inventory of textures for these simulations we can´t possibly download, edit, and then re-upload, every single/exsisting texture file.

Kindly understand .... HJG is just a very small group with limited resources and for this reason we need folk do their own texture updating .... "using the data and information provided by us" .... BUT .... this´s "A VERY SIMPLE PROCEDURE" as follows ....

Each individual B727-200 SERIES aircraft base pack file now contains a new folder entitled "ADDITIONAL TEXTURES". Inside this folder are 2 texture BMP files which are specific to the models contained within each base pack. "Both of these new texture BMP files" must be copied & pasted inside "each and every individual texture folder" assigned to that particular base pack. These texture BMP´s detail the new air-stairs and/or winglet features associated with each new V2.0 B727-200 model.

Each of the new 3D models contained inside every B727-200 SERIES aircraft base pack now have specific file names. For this reason the MODEL= data line within the FLIGHTSIM.XX component of each and every texture assignment within a particular base pack CFG file must now be edited with "a specific model file name".

Some folk might not know what particular texture/s should be applied to each individual aircraft base pack model. To aid resolving this potential issue the following easy to understand 7-step solution has been devised ....

1. One first needs to decide which prticular texture/s one wants to fly .... since this will then determine what particular aircraft base packs are required.

2. Open the following "B727 TEXTURE INVENTORY" ....

3. Scroll down through the B727-200 SERIES listings.

4. Locate ones aircraft texture subject/s of choice .... per aircraft type name, airline identity, livery date (and aircraft registration in some cases too).

5. Note the recommended aircraft base pack and model assigments listed beside each individual subject.

6. Apply that particular texture subject to the recommended aircraft base pack .... THEN .... edit the recommended model file name for that particular texture subject to the MODEL= data line within FLTSIM.XX component of the AIRCRAFT.CFG file for any base pack .... and "SAVE THAT EDIT".

7. Finally .... add the contents of the "ADDITIONAL TEXTURES" folder to "each and every" texture folder installed within each aircraft base pack.

And that´s all there is to it .... pretty simple .... aye

"IF" any folk are still confused, or, uncertain as to what to do .... THEN .... simply post on the "BOEING AIRCRAFT SUPPORT" forum page .... stating the specific aircraft type, airline texture subject, aircraft registration, and livery date in question, and we´ll endeavour to try´n sought everything out accordingly.

Remember .... we/HJG have invested significant time. and effort. in trying to improve this project over the past 2 years, so, it does make sense for us to want try to assist everyones enjoyment of not only this, but, all HJG projects generally

JUST A FEW FINAL, BUT VITAL, WORDS OF ADVICE/WISDOM ....

As mentioned above .... "ALL" original HJG B727-200 SERIES aircraft base pack files .... and .... "ALL" original HJG B727-100/200 panels, and their supporting Panel Gauges/Core Files component too, "MUST NOW BE REPLACED WITH THE NEW V2.0 and V2.1 FILES" respectively.

Don´t try taking short cuts by maybe blending these new files with their old/original file/folder versions .... or confusion, and problems, may result, to the extent of denying one the privillege of enjoying these new and revised simulations, and which will only result in disappointment.

Now why risk that ?

Therefore make the effort "P-L-E-A-S-E" .... delete all old file/folder versions .... "R-E-A-D" the new intallation instructions, and the new "B727 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" too (they are all different) .... and install the "NEW" file/folder versions correctly/as prescribed

PLEASE NOTE .... "ALL" original B727-200 SERIES texture files, and their FLtSIM.XX components, "CAN" be added to any of the AIRCRAFT.CFG files contained within the new V2.0 aircraft base pack files .... BUT .... remember to add/edit the MODEL= data line of each CFG component in accordance with the new 3D model file name/s for each individual texture (as advised above) or MSFS simply won´t recognise and display the installed subject/s.

OK .... I´m done

- Select aircraft texture subject/s of choice .... per aircraft type name, airline identity, livery date (and aircraft registration in some cases too).

- Note the recommended aircraft base pack and model assigments listed beside each infidual texture subject.

- Apply each texture subject to the recommended aircraft base pack .... THEN .... edit the recommended model file name for that particular texture subject to the MODEL= data line in the FLTSIM.XX component of the AIRCRAFT.CFG file in the base pack .... and "SAVE THAT EDIT".

- Add the contents of the "ADDITIONAL TEXTURES" folder to "each and every" texture folder installed in each aircraft base pack.

Oh. My. Gott! I've been super anxiously waiting for these jewels to be released ever since I first read about them being planned. The 727, although I like it very much, may not be among my very favorite classic flying irons, in the sim however, it is without a doubt my favorite classic liner to fly (talking about the one HJG is offering, of course ). I think I could compare it with a really sweet, tasty cake. And now, it has become even more complete and "heavier" on systems modeled, their complexity/realism and overall quality. I realize a tremendous amount of work, time, patience, dedication and ambition went into this (as is the case with the rest of the simulations offered by HJG), for us to enjoy...for free...the generosity and dedication of people like you guys, boggles my mind Like the others, I'm very, very grateful to all of you for your constant efforts to improve and expand on your already top notch offerings. THANK YOU! Can't wait to try these freshly baked 727s

I made a few typo errors within the "BOEING 727-200 EARLY" only section of the recommended texture/3D model/aircraft base pack assignments within the following "B727 TEXTURE INVENTORY" ....
