I only purchased an aircraft payware product once. Following the instructions and the checklists it took me 20 minutes to just get the engines started, so I never used it again. I suppose the amount of detail involved in payware aircraft is realistic, and reflects the real world operation of aircraft, but for myself, I would prefer the less complicated freeware products available. Perhaps I am just getting too lazy Herman

"ANY" news in regard to developing commercial products are of interest (that's why we have a "PAYWARE" forum page) .... as per "JETRANGER's" news in this particular case .... even though, being payware, there's a 99% chance I'll never buy it myself .... simply because (as as Tony states .... and which I do agree with also) the established VC-10 simulations by David MALTBY .... supported also by the newer soundpacks for these simulations by Benoit PLAMONDON .... both (separate FS2004 and FSX specific soundpacks depicted within the following video) more than adequately satisfy myself in respect of this particular aircraft type. DMFS VICKERS VC-10 (Standard and Super) .... with audio by Benoit PLAMONDON .... "AUDIO-VISUAL PTRESENTATION" www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfGH2ejzFrQ&feature=youtu.beFull review/Explanatory notes "HERE" .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/6064/new-vickers-vc10-soundpacks-availablePersonally .... I feel the DMFS simulation/s of the VC-10 .... supported by the custom DMFS panel/s included with them .... not to mention textures for virtually every major VC-10 operator livery too .... and also not forgetting Benoit's more recent "custom developed" audio for these simpulations as well .... will be "HARD TO BEAT" for a while to come yet .... in my own humble opinion "IF" .... anyone's at all uncertain .... the DMFS VC-10 (along with the DH COMET 3/4 series, HS TRIDENT series, and BAC ONE-ELEVEN series) can be downloaded from the following website .... DM FLIGHTSIMwww.dmflightsim.co.uk/PLEASE NOTE .... technical support for each of these fine simulations are provided by "CLASSIC BRITISH FLIGHT SIM" at the following website address .... www.cbfsim.co.uk/CBFS_HOME.phpBenoit PLAMONDON's "custom" soundpacks for the VC-10 (strongly recommended) are obtained as directed per the information provided within my above-links concerning these "superb" audio files". Technical support for these particular soundpasks ids provided by Benoit personally .... or so I understand. Mark C AKL/NZ

Hello together, The VC10 is a great plane. Here at Hermeskeil museum in Germany, a VIP version of it is exhibited and makes for some good eyecandy. Talking of David Maltby's wonderful VC10, don't forget to upgrade it with Nicholas Weber's extensive panel upgrade bringing the (Super) VC10 on par with more complex simulations. However, the installation process is somewhat tricky. EDIT: For a good impression of this mod, take a look at this video. Nothing against Aeroplane Heaven, but telling from their products so far I don't think they will delve too deep into systems. Regards

"PERSONALLY" .... I do prefer systems intensity with any simulation .... but .... that's just me among other like-minded individuals too. Not everyone does like it .... I appreciate BUT .... even without such systems intensity David MALTBY's work is still "FABULOUS" .... and not because it's "FREE" .... but rather .... because it's success/appeal is actually more deeply founded thsn that. What I'm meaning to hint at here is .... one's got to understand/know "a lot" about a certain aircraft type in order to be able to represent it well for FS. As I recall .... David (and his partners) were given considerable assistasnce by the RAF in oder to be able to work up his simulation/s. Not implying this newer payware version of the VC-10 won't make the grade .... because we simply don't know at this stage .... but .... merely saying the DMFS version will be "very hard" to beat/better for a while yet .... IMHO The last payware version of this aircraft (can't remember who did it) "DID NOT" come close to matching the quality of the DMFS version .... as I recall. Mark C AKL/NZ

Good news, people!
Vololiberista's long awaited Super VC10 upgrade based on David Maltby's model and panel will be released by the end of the week on Avsim! It will come in three files mounting to no less than 0.9 GB! The upgrade incorporates an extensive system simulation and real-life engine performance based on the East African Airline's manuals, excerpts of which can be found on vc10.net.
Best regards, Christian
