Aharon,
The problem you speak of is a known limitation in the FS dynamics handling in that it doesn't support pinwheel turns well because brakes are either on or off, where as in real life to make a pinwheel or narrow base turn they will apply the inside brake just enough to stop that wheel without locking it, some aircraft even have a tight turn ground handling selector (Dash 8 Q series does, C-17 and C-130J do, BAe ATP and Saab 340/2000 have a similar mode, not sure what else does). In FS/P3D (and Xplane from what I've seen) on the other hand will lock that brake even in differential brake mode. There just isn't a smooth way to make a tight turn and I've tried many tricks over the years. A few payware models had a "soft" brake mode but even with that it didn't really fix the problem. IF you have a full throttle quadrant you can basically skid the turn around by applying more outboard opposite throttle but it's not exactly realistic... Best you can do is tap the differential brake key while carefully pulling around in a tight slow turn, but it will never be as smooth as real life can.

Aharon,
Ok, now I know what you mean. Do you have rudder pedals? With mine (CH) I can apply differential braking to help with tight turn. Much easier to use differential braking with pedals than with the keyboard as Peter suggests. In fact I've never really had much of problem in that area when turning around at the end of a runway with rudder pedals.
From the FDE standpoint, the issue comes down to what to set nose gear steering angle at. If it is set to a high value of, say 70-80 degrees, then on takeoff there can be a tendency to have large side-to-side oscillations with very little rudder input; ie ground steering is unstable. So to decrease that problem we set the steering angle closer to 60 degrees. If you find that is not good for you it's easy to change to a larger steering angle in the cfg file.

Okay Thanks Peter and Mike for kind explanations. Will try to survive backtracking on narrow runways in northern Arctic Canadian airports and northern Scotland's airports using new model bases with First Air and Jersey European (Flybe) liveries.
Thanks for making exciting debut of new model bases soon. Looking forward to fly RJ-85 First Air in extreme bitter -40 degree winter conditions in northern arctic Canada!!
Regards,
Aharon

Nice Jumbolinos Mark. You and any other painter/member of the creative team behind this beauty and/or the 727-100 (I hope we will hear about her in the future) are making it harder and harder to wait for flying them in the MSFS.
