Hello, and this is just a quick question, not a criticism. The UI name and manufacturer are all identical in capitalization, spacing, etc excepting one denotes the "9" and the other "10". While scrolling through the select page, there's HJG's DC-8, DC-10, then the DC-9. Anyone like to venture a guess as to "howcum"?
On a side note: speaking of DC-8... anyone clue me in as to how I can monitor the markers? I get the lights, but no audio. I must have missed something.
Thank you to all who take the time to offer assistance. These Big 10s rock... (just wish the 9's panels were for fsx....KW panels are ok, but not like HJG)
Thanks to all.........Terry

I'm guessing that FS uses naive name sorting, and that the DC-10 appears before the DC-9 because "1" is before "9" in the sorting order...

No .... you´ve not missed anything Terry The marker lights are there on each of the panels .... as you´ve correctly observed .... BUT .... the Radio Stack (being one of our earliest productions) doesn´t feature a tab/switch in order to be enable the Marker audio if desired. To enable the Marker audio you neeed to first load the default MSFS CESSNA (or other MSFS defult aircraft) into FS .... "before selecting and loading any HJG DC-8" .... and then activate the Marker audio tab/switch, on the Radio Stack, of the default MSFS aircraft selection .... THEN .... load your HJG DC-8 of choice with it´s panel. FS will always transfer a previous selection/scenario to the next/following aircraft selection/scenario. Using this method, in regard to selecting the Marker audio "ON", your DC-8 panel will then not only display the Marker lights, but, it will/should also then result in the Marker audio being activated too. I´m not sue if I covered this in our DC-8 manual since the Marker audio tab/switch "is not" a feature of the Radio Stack sub panel (I may have done though), but, here´s a link to our forum based/online DC-8 manual anyway .... DC-8 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTEStonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8019/hjg-panel-installation-handling-notesPLEASE NOTE: It "is" recommended that an MSFS aircraft be loaded into FS first and "befoe" selecting any HJG supplied airraft (with the exception of the AMD MERCURE 100). This action "is not" essential for the smooth running of these simulations, but, simply ensure´s that all panel features and systems "are" configured in accordance with the basic MSFS default standard. In regard to your MSFS Aircraft Selection Menue aircraft listing obervatios .... George is "quite right". It´s just the way FS displays everything .... but as odd as it my seem .... it´s of absolutely no consequence at all Mark C BOG/CO

George and Mark... Thank you for the insight. I had read about selecting a MS default first, but seemed like everything else worked fine, so I didn't wish to delay my HJG experience. I will give that a try. George... you might have a point about the native sorting algorithm of FSX.. Just for grins, I'll rename the UI aircraft DC-09. I'll see what happens.. Thank you, gentlemen for creating delightful experiences for us simmers... Terry
Update: George you hit the nail on the head. The one model I changed to DC-09 and it showed up before the DC-10. Mark: You, my friend, were correct also. I loaded the DC-8 over the marker.... light no audio. Loaded the default 206, heard the audio. Reloaded the DC-8 and waa laah, the audio was present. I will just have to remember this little side trick for the DC-8.
Side note: This is why I frequent this site and contributed to Simviation in your behalf. You have such a wealth of knowledge to enlighten all of us. While reading about the different liveries, so many of the HJG team had volumes of historical information to impart not only of the liveries, but the systems that were involved. I now understand the true meaning of HISTORICAL Jetliners Group. You guys not only talk the talk...but (you must have lived it) you walk the walk.. God bless..

Thanks for that kind feedback Terry .... we, all of us, appreciate that .... "a lot" FYI .... the same Radio Audio work around will also apply to our CV-880 and CV-990 panels (if you ever get into those) since they use the very sme Radio Stack as our DC-8 panels .... and I think it may also apply to our B707/720 too, but, I´m not sure since it´s been a while since i´ve had a play with any of these. In short .... the recommended Radio Audio work around should resolve any such similar omission in regard to any panel (not just HJG´s) featuring Marker Lamps, but, not feturingg a Radio Audio selector tab/switch.
