At HJG Mike and I use R/W TSFC data in order to determine basic FF .... for each aircraft/engine type configuration since these all differ. The way we do so is to compute this data so the indicated FF is correct (as can be achieved) "at SL" .... BUT IN FS .... and subject to applied drag components as well as FS simulated air pressure changes (etc) with altitude we then have to "accept" whatever the indicated FF becomes by the time any simulation reaches virtual cruising altitude. FF indications in the virtual high alt cruise can therefore end up being a bit more .... or less .... than is realistic .... but either way they're it still "pretty accurate" among all of what we provide.
