Working on a few -62's. Completely redid the nacelles on these, think they are a small improvement.

Fantastic work, Jim -- I really like the metal on the Swissair one!

Not one to leave anyone hanging here... This one cropped up as I was tweaking my Pan Am DC-8-30's a few weeks ago and wanted to do some more research into its Origin. I present to you the ONLY DC-8-62 which wore the Blue Globe of Pan Am for a short period of time in 1970-71, Jet Clipper Golden Light. It was on a South American Interchange route operated by Braniff. Most Interchange airplanes did not wear the full livery of their partners, usually sharing a logo here or there on the fuselage or tail. This bird was a true anomaly in that it was painted in FULL Pan Am livery of the time period. Astute observers will see the small Braniff logo just behind the front boarding door on the port side. Enjoyed doing this one and I think its one of my favorites to date. This link has a bit more about the service and this livery. www.yesterdaysairlines.com/airline-history-blog/golden-light-pan-ams-interchange-dc-8-62

AH .... the SUPER 62. Did know about it .... and also mentioned it within the "PA section" of my following linked "JET AIR RACE/COMPETITION" feature which I presented earlier this year .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/10080/great-race-plane-gameWhat I didn't know though is that this particular aircraft was operated as "a BN/PA interchange" (I'd earlier assumed it was a straight and simple PA lease from BN) and also apparently supported "BRANIFF" titles too. Surprised they used a SUPER 62 on those routes though (I know BN always had since the late 60's) .... due to it's superior range. Dunno if either BN or PA might also have used the SUPER 62 as far afield as Rio De Janeiro and/or Buenos Aires and which, if operated from either New York or Miami, would be in keeping with the types greater range. Jim's texture is "far fresher and more accurate" than the version we currently offer of it. Mark C AKL/NZ
